If by "this" you mean RunUO, you use the regular OSI client, and use UOGateway to connect to whatever server you want to connect to.

Use the UO client(part of the game cd), fully patch it, then log into your shard using UOGateway.

UOGateway gives people a way to connect to a shard without having to modify files.

Otherwise, you have to manually decrypt the client, reconfigure the client, and re-set everything when a new version of UO comes out.

With UOGateway, you click on the server, and you're done.
