HOW TO: Run Razor in Ubuntu Linux

Hi guys I managed to get Razor working under WINE in Ubuntu 8.10
But i cant get the hotkeys to work.
I set the hotkey in razor then when i click it inside UO nothing happens but if i click execute hotkey in razor it executes the hotkey.
anyone knows how to solve this problem?

When I upgraded my Ubuntu at 9.04, Razor always shows me that error.
How can I fix it?

I believe the oriya fonts might be causing that error. Winetricks' "fontfix" is supposed to fix that, but doesn't, for some reason. To get rid of the oriya fonts, use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove ttf-oriya-fonts

That fixed it for me. Currently running UO with the latest Razor in Wine.

Hello, I have followed these steps exactly and have had no problems, uo loads fine, but when I try to open razor it does nothing... Any ideas?

Tip: The 'port' box on the Razor login screen is uneditable, but you can work around this by typing:
"wine regedit.exe"
and edting the Razor registry key for 'lastserver' to anything, as just modifying it makes that field editable.

well after following many steps from these guides (and a few others) i have finally gotten razor to load and start uo. this gets me logged all the way into the game then as soon as i take a step or try to close or open something it crashes and shuts down. any ideas? its soo close. this is the last thing i need to be completely microshaft free.

Anyone got razor working with mono? i managed to install both, but then razor crashes at startup.

when running with microsoft .net 20 it says:
"application tried to load rintime library incorrectly" "C:\windows\
and then:
that mscorwks.dll could not be loaded.

runing wine 1.1.31 @ slacware latest

hi there.

here's a little issue:

i can play using razor, but if I DARE targetting ANYTHING on the screen (items or chars), the client freezes and i must logout/login again.

someone know what am I missing?

running Ubuntu Karmic Koala (9.10), client 4.0.0, wine 1.0.1 and razor 1.0.12

Not to be a cross-referencer, or a show-off for that matter, but you may want to check out my guide (in this section, just not stickied). I am also currently running UO on 9.10, with no problems. PM me if you've read my guide and had already followed all the steps, but have found no solution. I will help.

finally managed to install razor, but when i start client with razor it crashes:
first i get client crash and then info from Razor:

Razor was unable to inizialize. Error code:NO_TID
Description: Could not find the Client's ThreadID
This error means that Razor was unable to hook the client
after it started. This is usually caused by errors in the client
wich cause it to crash to terminate before has finished starting up.
Check to make sure your client starting up properly.

someone had the same problem in this thread, but couldnt find any answer.
Dont have oriya nor samyak fonts.

I had some troubles trying to use razor.
First of all,Ii found that the best version to run Razor with is UO Monday's Legacy. With UO AOS I could enter the game and use macros, but when i tried to target anything, my UO freezed.
Second, don't run "Razor.exe". Run "Updater.exe" instead.


ps.: Someone can tell me how to run Easy UO + UOML on Linux Karmic Koala (9.10)?

I didnt have problems running EasyUO under wine (it dont need .NET), and im using Slackware (i.e. have to install everything by hand), pm me if you want some help with it.

i got it working but one problem, it wont detect my g15 macros..
i set macros like this.
push L_ALT
push 1
release 1
release L_ALT

it should work, it works in other programs, even uo itself.. any ideas?

further testing it seems to be the ALL keys in general..
if i make the macro, check box alt, then 1.

pushing alt 1 does nothing.. im guessing razor is not catching the key strokes..
i make it say just 1, then it doesnt do anything either..

any ideas?

Razor used to work fine here (Ubuntu 9.10 and WINE 1.1.34). But now it doesn't. Every time a run razor.exe (or updater.exe) via WINE I have the following problem:

I tried to reinstall Razor, but nothing changed. Anyone knows what it could be?

backup and delete your .wine folder and start over installing everything..

are you using the wine1.2 with the pulseaudio drivers built in?

Thank you for you answer aarons6. I have no clue about the pulseudio drivers lol. But now, I'm also having trouble trying to re-install everything:

First, I removed all WINE programs running "rm -rf $HOME/.wine". Then I removed WINE with the distribution's package manager. But now, when I try to install WINE again, I have the following problem:
