I dug up a few different CD's with Ultima Online, I ran a RunUO server really long time ago -- but completely forgot how to do any of this...

The coding and compiling I have no problems with... but the client version I am not sure which where who what to do with it.

I've got 9th anniversary version of the CD's, will that work as a client or do I need a specific version that's tucked away somewhere for me to find?

RunUO 2.3 works with up to the newest classic client, which you can download from uo.com.
(RunUO does not support the Enhanced Client, but there is help out there if you are dead-set on using it.)

Choosing your client will have more to do with which map/art features you prefer or if you intend to customize the land mass on your map.

If you want a custom map, you will most likely want to look to client 7.0.23.1 or prior. This is because most of the tools created to create a custom map are not yet updated to work with clients after this.

If you want a map that can be interchanged between snow/summer, I believe that is around 7.0.21.0.

The most important thing to know when choosing a client is just to make sure that both the client your users are using is the same client that you are running on the server side.
