Question about game servers

what is the minimum needed to build your own game system that i can run out of my house?

As I am sure alot of u do, i had a couple people say u need a quad core processor, what do u need?

The minimum you need is a computer capable of running the game itself and supports the .Net framework.

Keep in mind that your server will be very slow and players will experience lag and long save times.

Slower upload speed on your internet connection will also cause lag.

ok, should i get a quad core processor or can i do it with a dual core? or would lag be an issue once again?

The main reason for lag is the internet upload speed (NOT the download speed!!!).
The processor won't have too much effect on small servers run time but will cause longer world saves.
SSD hard drive can reduce the world save considerably but it costs more than normal HD.
