serverloads. saves help

hi there all.
i found some info but i cant remember where i found it.
but i need help understanding it.

Go in your RunUO Directory/Saves folder and delete everything.
Then do the same in the Saves Backup folder. Go in your RunUO
Directory/Backups/Automatic folder. Find the folder with the
most recent or second most recent folder. Copy the contents
and paste them in the Saves and Saves Backup folders then
start the server.

now i have a saves folder, and a automatic folder in backups.
but i dont have a Saves Backup folder.
can anyone help.

and also i have the shard on a ten min save as i find that my server runs better, but i also read that it will eat my hard drive space quick.
how do i go about doing that. nowing what to put on a disk.
thanks for all your help.
all the best
:)

Unless you have a small hd, why are you worried about space?

The smallest hd I can find at the local store, is 40 GB, which is 800% larger then even the largest shard needs, were only talking about 5-6 GB of backups for the largest shards.

Look at your backup folder again, the files should be there.

ok thanks i have a 80g hard drive and a 40.
also it maybe silly but do i take out the folders out of the saves folder
and put the last back up files into the saves folder. as last time i tryed
it said theres no admin to make a new one.
thanks to all. :)

You can do it this way.

1) delete the 'Saves' folder in the main RunUO installation directory.

2) go into the Backups/Automatic folder and choose one of the backup folders e.g. 'Most Recent ....',

3) copy that folder into the main RunUO installation directory.

4) change the name from 'Most Recent ...' (or whatever it was) to 'Saves'
