Specialized Testing to aide developers

Devs,
I have an idea that could quite possibly solve a great deal of problems for you the developers. For every skill used in UO there is an expert on that skill right here on these forums. What I propose is that you select a group of testers unlike your normal beta tester who could help iron out all the small details of every skill as most skills are currently very close but not quite there yet. There are many somewhat secretive nuances for every skill not to mention the basic functionallity itself.

When you are ready to hone a skill or are noticing posts showing concern about a skill you could simply select and expert or group of experts to run comparative testing and accumulate data saving you the devs a great deal of time.

Your "skill experts" would act much as your regular beta testers but would differ by having the specific purpose of testing a single skill and its comparative interaction and support skills.

Myself for example, I have a combined 6 years of experience on official shards and have had numerous tamers and tailors and consider myself highly knowlegable in those areas but very weak in others. I feel certain I could answer any questions you might have concerning taming including some facts either no longer found on stratics or some of the more obscure features of the skill and its supporting skills.

This is not to diminish your current testers in any way, those guys have a job totally seperate from what im proposing and are absolutely necessary. They're guys who are look for stuff like example:(not real) if I go to a mage shop purchase 3 scolls and drop them on an escortable he drops the contents of his backpack. Right? thats what your beta guys should be up to. Issues like the example are true bugs. Unfortunately its seem that the majority of true bugs are more often found by the exploiters or simply by mistake.

my experiences tell me this is a good idea. I was an original uo tester, also uor and finally 3rd dawn not to mention several other non-ea games of which only 3 of 7 were ever published or went retail.

The idea of just sending X amount of people to play (beta-test) and file reports on inccidents and occurances just doesnt seem to be enough especially so when developing such a powerful emulator as runuo

support would be nice but flame me if you must. positives are'nt positive without the negatives!

Those players may still miss something, but the idea does seem sound. However I do know that the dev's here do not blindly make a release. They do test things to a certain point, I am sure. How they do that I do not know, there may already be such a team in place.
