We use Guild War or Alliance War in order to be able to take unlimited negative actions on players in other groups for the purpose of having a friendly war, that has a specific number of kills as the win condition.

We use Alliance for communication in order to set up these wars and other war-games. There are multiple guilds involved, and one guild has to split off/rejoin every time to get the benefit of Alliance Chat in between wars. This also means that the Alliance team always has multiple guilds in it and the Enemy team goes to war by itself.

At first I thought about alliance-alliance, with two or more alliance leaders, able to glom together. But that breaks the principle of having one alliance leader who can invite.

Then I thought about War Chat; we would not have to form and break Alliance if we where able to get the benefit of Alliance Chat while still in War relationship. Maintaining a constant state of war for the War Chat, in-between wars that are set up with a win condition, would make alliance-war more feasible and make what we are trying to accomplish a lot less complicated.
