Better yet, list the vendor items on the in-game message boards. Lord knows those things are pretty useless otherwise.
Personally, I think it's a good idea to keep as much in-game as possible in order to promote people to spend more time playing. UO is very dependent on the amount of time people invest in actual gameplay.
