The units are map "tiles." Pretty much anything is measured in tiles. When your character takes one step it is one tile. Also, your "radar" or overhead map in large mode is about 75 tiles from center to edge.
Spawner ranges are a square centered on the spawner. The size of the square is actually (range X 2) + 1. Best illustrated by example. A value of zero sets a square one tile large... the tile the spawner sits on. A value of one sets a square 3 by 3, or the one the spawner sits on plus one in each direction. A value of 100 will get your 200 by 200 (really 201 by 201) square.
To get your current location as a GM or higher type [Get Location. Or just judge by your radar. It does sound like the map you are using is giving you proper coordinates.
