The sickest parts are that:
1) Guadalupe Gutierrez-Juarez is being held for OTHER rape charges as well (apparently she wasn't his first).
2) he shouldn't even be in this country
Something has to be done about all this, and it's not even just illegal immigrants. We need to find a way to prevent the rapist mindset, obviously there is something happening in these people's lives that is making them this way (apart from mental handicaps, though I'm sure those are present as well). Of course, to tell a family they're breeding a rapist and forcing them to raise them right would be the state interfering with peoples lives.
**side note: I also find it ridiculous that his fine would only be 50,000 dollars, not even the amount for copyright violation...what is wrong with our legal system...

If your child was 10 years old, and pregnant would you know about it?
I mean it's not something that would cross someones mind normally. Here's an anatomy lesson for you guys - like it or not - when a girl is first starting to develop into a woman the early symptoms for pregnancy are similar. Sore and enlarging breasts, nausea, hunger and food cravings change, missed or irregular periods, different libido, skin changes, water retention throughout the body, etc... I could go on but I think the point is made. So by the time they might have figured out she was pregnant it could have been months. And a little girl is just not going to be that in tune with her body to know that something is not right, especially at that time in her life.
Another factor would be how legal is abortion in the state she is in, and would it have caused more physical trauma to the little girl if she had an abortion. Not many men know this but it is a danger when aborting that a woman may not be able to have another baby. And taking that away from the girl might have also been something to consider.
So before we jump down the parents throats for not "taking care" of the pregnancy lets all remember that it is the body of a developing young girl, her body can get fucked up for life depending heavily on her personal health considerations. And I really don't think that they are going to release that kind of information on a news article about a child.
