I have an $800 Turtle Beach soundcard that it doesn't support. A quality soundcard leaves no incentive to upgrade as frequently as other hardware, but the methods used for hardware control negate the possability of ever writing a Vista compliant driver. Many people have problems with similar hardware or software that simply won't ever work on Vista. On a new PC it's great, on a custom built PC with high end hardware it's hit-and-miss with some issues, on an old PC it's slow (but that last one is understandable). I've been running it dice build 1012, and it's evolved nicely and can be forced compatibe with most hardware and almost all software, however the methods used to force compatability vary greatly from one product to the next. It's never quite as easy as enabling comapatbility mode.
