And I might as well chime in with my "Me too!" here as well. I've been wanting to start a shard myself for awhile now. After seeing the meager impending features list for 2.0 published on the main page like "Faster Core, 64-bit support, etc." and after hearing that 2.0 was supposedly to be released in April, I put off my plans to pour my effort into 1.0 in favor of waiting. And I continue to wait....

People are pissy there will always be some pissy people when project deadlines are met. Regardless, there are points on both sides. People do need to realize that dates set are tenative on any programming project, they also need to realize that the runuo project is not a microsoft project (hence, most of the bugs will more than likely be at least addressed prior to a full release and it sounds like Ryan and his team take that very seriously).
Ryan and his team need to understand that their project is important to a lot of people (which I think they do), and while it might suck to hear a percentage of them bitch and moan, you will find that like life, there are always the whining few that bitch and moan about anything (including winning the lottery "Oh man... now look at all the taxes I have to pay"). So that being said. All I can say is the people that are sucking up too much "Oh Ryan we love to sit around and wait like good loyal puppies" are... well pathetic. The people that are bitching about it are assholes, and the people like me that can't wait but don't give a shit either way... Well... we are pathetic assholes ![]() |

Like I said I'll wait years to come if I have to... We all run into problems and of course they will let us know if something goes wrong...

If you would have read my whole POST you would have understand what I was trying to point out... They gave us an update thats better than NOTHING, and you go out stating that a release should have been released 2 months ago... If you think RunUO is bad, talk about our Government... Or something related... Seesh... Now I am NOT trying to Rant If I was my post would have been in a different approach... Again... RunUO doesn't have to give nothing nor do they have to say anything to anyone about ANYTHING, they do because they keep their projects and they enjoy it. So be patient and most of all its free, so why bicker, and complain about an update or a oopsy on a computer... We all run into problems... As you said your anxious about RunUO 2.0... Instead of talking about a release being released 2 months ago a better approach to your wording would be... "Thanks for letting me know whats going on, hope things get back to where they we're" Would be more respectful than saying Quote:

lol, too funny to watch everyone squirm. I too am eager to get my hands on 2.0, but I would rather wait until it's done, then to have the Devs now emulate a certain company we all know from Redmond and release a product before it's time.
Runuo 1.0 was late, but it was right. (99% anyway) I have stopped dev work on my shard, but it gives me time to do other projects outside UO I have put off for a long time. It will be here when it gets here and not a moment before then. So sit tight, hold on to something, and have a drink on me! *pours beer for all* Cheers! |

You know Ravenal, whenever you capitalize a random word or use a "...", God kills a kitten.
Worse than the freaking leet speak noobs I swear. Anyway, why should new shard owner wait for 2.0? How bad are the compatability issues gonna be? |

I will probably get some bad comments from this but I will say what I feel.
I have been patiently awating this release for some time now. I have held off making large changes to my shard because of this. I stopped all the large system scripting to wait and see what 2.0 holds. I feel it's just time to push on with 1.0 and not worry about when they release it. Obvoiusly they have had some setbacks so it might be a good bit until this is completed. All I am saying is, to the people that are waiting for 2.0 to start a project, you might just want to go ahead and start it now, because with the problems that the RunUO team has had recently I wouldn't wait around on them, and it will also help take some pressure off of them. People can beg and plead waiting for this release to come but it will only get here when they can get the work done, so the begging is not helpful. On the other hand, I do not see anything wrong with the people just being curious. I am also curious which is why I read this thread. If you weren't curious of the release date, you wouldn't be reading this thread past the first post. Thanks. |

Solution Mabee? They Developers Of RUO have given So much to us all . If I had a list of parts and mabee a UPS Store Adress Or Mailboxes ect. I could not buy all the parts. But I would be Damn Happy to get at least one or two off the list. Mabee Someone else could get another and before you know it Krioss is cranking code out of gratitude.
You could almost build a host server doing the same thing. Operation Stop complaing about the setbacks and do something to help. (O.S.C.A.S.A.D.S.T.H.) Would love to help just tell me how.
