Default Vampire Quest and Artis

Here it goes this is my first full fledge quest script. Before I get to far I want to thank some people who've given me a hand. First set A Li N and Daat99 for there help a while back on my Vampiriac steed on the array list. Then A Li N again as well as Phantom, Jaynigs and Ravatar for their assistance in pointing me in the right direction for the EmptyVengenceGems as well as the EmptyBloodVials1. Thanks guys ...

Vampire Quest

Description:

A five teir quest. That must be done in order. Each end of a segment gives you an item that you will carry on to the next Quest Char. Without that item the Quest Char will not respond to you other then *in a nutshell* telling you to leave them be. The first Teir is gathering six different hearts after each heart is gotten the player receives a peice of armor as well as the next knife with which to cut out the Vampires heart. The armor is set to all ID/Appearence on DBL click so everyone can still have individuality even if it is highly popular. The second Teir is gathering Vengence Gems for a quest char at the end the player will recieve another peice of the full gear. Third Teir is same basis only it's blood needing to be gatherd. Fouth Teir is a Crested Ring. Once a player has the quest done till that point he'll be told to DBL Click the ring he's given while wearing the full suit of Vampire & Dracula gear. it'll drop a set of key that will allow them to access a Gate/DraculasTeleporter. Dracula is the fifth Teir upon beating him they will recieve a Shroud that when DBL clicked will add stat mods, a title mod, a body mod. But this robe only works with the rest of the gear on as well. . Stats are removed upon removal of the Shroud. Enjoy!

Installation:
Extract to your Customs folder and load the server.

Instructions:
Are coverd in the Read Me Please file.
Just a reminder test these monsters out adjust as said in the read me file to fit your shards level of players. Same goes for the gear

Credits:
Ofcourse to all the above mentioned people also Memnoch for his noammobaseranged.cs I used for the Vampiriac Bow. as well as a few of them evil vampires who have names of freinds. cept Acheron that's my ingame tag! :P.

I've ran it through the mill several million times and everything looks good. But this is my first full fledged script so if you run across anything that needs changed let me know. Also just let me know what you think anyway . IF liked well enough a second part that ties into the first will follow. thanks everyone.

Fixed
Verona; the bag she drops contianed 20 vengence gems when she was set to accept 15.
EmptyVengence gems now have a name.!
Armor now changes apearence to everyone! Added a check to make sure it was in pack when morphed. If Morphed while equiped no one else will see the change.
DraculasTeleporter will no longer cause crashes when your pet walks over it or any AI for that matter.
Allowing pets to teleport with the player.

Well Etherkye if you'd read my post this is my first submission and my first real script one. Two I use WinRAR normally and I did't have WinZip. Three I'm on dialup and had to download WinZip so it takes a bit. Four I deemed it better to leave the post and go download WinZip then delete it and rewrite the whole thing over. Five by stating the obovious it shows a lack of intelect on finding something better to note.

OK, I did the first part of the quest fine, but once I collected the "gems" and took them back to her I didn't get anything. She thanked me for collecting them and that was it... so did I do something wrong or what?

OOooo Sorry I forgot to adjust the bagofVengencegems that you reciece I just copied from the bagofvials and didn't change the count to 15 instead of 20... Thanks a bunch I'm posting the corrected quest over the other thanks again.

Here is the corrected Verona Mobile for the quest just replace the other and alls good.

Thanks alot Siogon, I really enjoyed writing it for the most part... *Starts to think back of the trouble spots ug :/ ! * lol I have another one almost done atm called the Queen of the Dammed. It's alot different from this one here and the gear is more aimed towards Warriors. I'm not sure if I'm going to make the armor with the ability to shape shift as I did with this one. Perhaps the weapon though *shrugs*... But the second part of this one here will make a new edition as a long running quest. Who knows, but thanks for the feedback. Please feel free to let me know what cha think.

just a side note. When you dclick the armor and try to show someone they are unable to see it change. Not sure if thats how it is supposed to be...
just wanted to let ya know. And everyone loves the quest. Can't wait to see more from you

ALOT of mispellings in the quest hehe but overall its a good script. and the vengance or w/e heh stones when they are empty you forgot to name them so they are Star sapphires hehe

:O Heres the Corrected EmptyVengenceGem1.cs* sorry about that. I could never spell though I thought I covered most of my mistakes on spelling, will have to work on that in the future. . As for the armor I'll be on that here in a moment Doh. Just got in from helping a buddy changing out the headgaskets on his car :/ ug. I'll remember to say no next time around lol. Thanks again for your input guys/gals. Bear with me though this is my first script hehehe . Oh Yea!

Alrighty then, It seems that they wouldn't change apperance if morphed while on the player. but if morphed in the pack it would change the apperance that others see. So I put in and else statement to check to see if the items was in the pack if not it'll tell them to place it into the pack to morph the item. That way everyone will see the same thing . This is the corrected file just drop in VampQuest Arti's folder and it'll all be good. Thanks again and please shoot out some more feedback. Eager to see how I did. Oh by the way many names for the armor is Latin that might be cause for some mispellings or seeming so. *shrugs* but if you want hit me with what's mispelled if you want I'll correct it. Sloppy spelling says alot *hangs his head in shame* lol

getting confused seeing many files added in different posts, can you just let me know wich files in here should be downloaded to have the full quest, updated ?

And, seeing the few bugs, can we know wich bugs were fixed in the updated file(s) ?

Ok hrm. 3 bugs to date have been posted. They are all listed under the Fixed section of the first post, as well as the corrected quest put in place of the previous version. I also reply to each bug in a separate post and place the file I fixed in that post. That way giving people the option to either replace each file as they come up or simply replace the whole quest with the corrected version. If by any chance you're still kind confused the simplist bet is to replace the whole quest with the corrected version. I hope that makes sense *thinks to himself as he looks over the post again* looks right

Found bug that causes server crash involving the Dracula's Teleporter I believe.... when players pets walk across it or other animals, it can cause the shard to crash, thats what I believe happened on mine just now.... here is the crash log.... I'm not very good yet at reading these, but thats what I believe happened, since when it crashed, there was a players pet walking over the teleporter... I *think* it's cuz the gate searches for the keys in the players backpack, but in the case of pets, or other animals, there is no backpack, and there's no exception set up for that case.... I'm still learning all this, so not quite sure how to fix it, or if I'm even right hehe Here's the crash log to see what everyone else thinks, any help is appreciated, Thanks again, and other then that, this is a GREAT script, my players LOVE it! =)

Ok Here's a temp fix for the teleporter, It'll no longer cause crashes when your pets walks over it or any other Creature/AI. But still doesn't teleport pets as of yet. Thanks to Alien for this fix, also thanks to Kerzed Soul and Admin Vorspire for their help as well.

Got the true fix done and the quest has been updated. Though heres the new DraculasTeleporter.cs* if you'd rather just change it out

Very nice script overall but I have one question that I am not sure of the answer of. When a player has to stop and log or forgets what part he is supposed to go to there is no quest log to view and see what the instructions were. Does it needed to be added to the script itself or can I just move a copy to the Engines folder I have where all the other quests are. I like it and want to add it but I need to fix this problem> Thanks in advance.

The quest was installed on the shard and after going through the readme file, it was set into motion very quickly. The player base jumped right into it. They're still trying to figure out just how to beat Dracula.

I have to say honestly that it is a very challenging quest and haven't had better feed back on any other script thus far. All of the players want to beat it this time, but are talking about starting it again after they finish it.

Well done. Thank you, and hope to see more from you.

As well for you to know, one of our players is a vet from OSI of 8 years has been working on this quest, made the comment that this has been the best quest that he's ever done. Just thought you would like to know that.

LostSinner I just wanted to congratulate you on a very excellent quest script. For a beginner with custom scripts you did an unbelievable job. I integrated this script into my server and all my friends were really surprised. I am to thank you personally from me and all at the Blind Ambitions Shard!! Thanks again!!

One bugg I found. Tested all the items & Mobs, and when I try to "add VampEarrings", it gives me an exception error. Doesnt crash the server or anything (tried 20 times just to see), just an exception and Earrings are not added.

Wow! Thanks for all the positive feedback guys I'm terribly sorry that it's taken me this long to reply I've been mad busy with work and wehn I'm not working I'm tearing through five new scripts 3 quests, 1 Evolving and morphing pet basically a pet that can change body values and switch around attributes based on body values which gain a wider spectrum of body values as it gains levels. 100 lvl's with 10 stages and roughly 20 body values and varried stat arrangements in full I'm going to try and get it to morph into the person as well if they reach the ultimate stage making them have greater strenght as well as resist, for a limited time that is n Hopefully this will become an ultimate companion *shrugs* The other is top secret lol.

As for SteelDarkness and Wildcard I'm not exactly sure how you could add that to the quest engine off the top of my head atm. But I will take some time away from the other scripts and see about setting up a marker system for players to check the current stage in the quest. I think perhaps a book that throws up the previous gump. that is replaced when they hit the next level in the quest? Does that sound ok? *shrugs* not sure but if there are better ideas shoot them out. I'll also try reworking through the quest egines. But we'll see how it goes. Thanks again everyone.

hi great scripts but in instrucitons you say there is a cave south of luna but quest gump says south of umbra can you clear this up for me
also after giving the guy in rock the crested ring im a bit lost on what to do next any pointers please?
