Lightbulb Pet Locator

Ok first of all im not sure if someone has made this or not, but here it is anyways.

This is a simple Pet Locator, a modified version of Pet Summoning Ball but with no charges. It basically does the reverse instead of summoning your pet it will send you to where your pet is. The reason I made this is because while I was playing on a shard there was a revert and my mercs where no where to be found. A few days later while fighting in a champ spawn my merc wandered off into the wilderness and it took me a while to locate him. Plus ive heard several other players complain that they can not locate there pet or merc. This should help in several situations. A few things to know about this.

1. you need to be bonded to the pet so that it can link.
2. you do not need to be bonded or even be the owner of the pet to go to its location.
( yes this means that if you trade your pet you can go to its location, but it is meant for if your pet lost its loyalty at least you can try and retame it )
3. it will not work if your pet is stabled, that is what the pet summoning ball is for.
4. you either need to add it as loot to monsters or as a reward from a quest or any other means of distribution.

Hopefully something like this can be implemented into the Evo systems or taming systems that are out there. Also hopefully this will be helpfull to some shard admins. Please feel free to use, modify or do what you want to with this script.

I think you may be on to something here. I think this could be badly abused though in certain situations. one way this could be abused i think would be player A links 5 or even more of these to a pet and trades the pat to player B who then enters the gauntlet on one gold skull player A gives one of the locators to all his chars and all player Bs chars and then they get all of thier chars into the gauntlet for free forever on one gold skull simply by leaving the pet in the gauntlet. This could happen easily if player B keeps mounting the pet and logging off with it in the gauntlet. That is just one way this could be abused I guess. Might want to do some testing and try to limit the abuse of this so that shards that are trying to be balanced and not have items being abused like that can use it. Other than that though I think its a great concept because I know Ive had times I could use this.

Talking Pet Locator

So true about the abuse. I left the jail part in it from the Summoning Pet Ball. A check can be done to see if the pet is in a certain area and if so not go there. Ill look into that. Also I need to block going into a house.

Thnx for the info

accesslevel Gm and higher [getfollowers but this looks cool and could be handy if your pet decides to grow a mind of its own
