Default Tourny Sash

Ok, if you are holding a PvP tourny on your shard, then this would be a great prize to give the winner!

You must change it to a .cs!

what makes this different from any other sash, and how hard would it have been to upload the .cs rather then text?

Ok, it won't let me upload .cs files, and it is a sash that has attributes, it would be a pvp item.

Well lets hope this is your first script and a building block. If so, its good that your taking the time to learn to write scripts.

First off dont take this the wrong way but this really is awful man. I am not trying to put you down or discourage you but you have to put a bit of effort into things in order to post them and get good results.

Let me give you an example of how this could have been a decent script.

For one I personally dont see the fact its a .txt a big deal unlike some people im not to lazy to simply rename the damn thing to a .cs so not a big deal but yeah .cs is always best when possable.

Ok man for attributes on things like this you need to take into consideration that ALOT of the people here are running very balanced shards. The attributes need to be VERY mild on things like clothing.

I would say something like hp regen 2 on this would have been plenty for a clothing piece. then give it a nice color or a random color if you know how to do so. I would then give it a cool name like "1st Prize Tournament of Warriors!" or something like that make it blessed since its like a reward and players are able to bless clothing anyhow.

That is just an idea of what a decent item should be like. But really it all comes down to clothing and equipment in general are not going to be considered a good script unless they do something extra unique like some type of cool effects or something that makes them more than just another set of equipment.

I find it hard to tell someone that they need to put more thought into scripts when most new scripts that are writen by people with less then 3 scripts submited will have UBER scripts that would break any shard that i could possibly want to play on. I havnt seen the script (because any clothing or armor i want i'll script myself) butit would be nice if we could have something to look at without opening the script where i could see UBER or normal for the script, uber meaning not ment for shards where players are not gods, but for shards where balrons = mongbats.

Ok, I do like the help I'm getting, as you should know, I'm new to scripting, but I am learning fast. Again, it won't let me upload .cs files, and I've tried. I do admit that most of my stuff is urber, but soon that will all change, in time. What I basically do, is get scripts, and then save them as Basic.cs ,and then copy them to a different .cs file, and alter it to my own liking. I'm a self taught scriptor, and I do hope to make some big things like quests, but I don't have any quest scripts to learn from. I do what I can, and thats about all. Most of the scripts I submit here are in my friends server, but I have made them. Once again, thank you for the help, I'll soon improve.

Rule of thumb, don't post scripts that are just modifications to other scripts, its pointless it takes no skill to do so and anyone can do that.

Do something, different, then post that otherwise your just posting files that nobody will care about.

No, you misunderstand me. I use them as a templet because it takes less time to just use a templet, I make it my own original script. I just use others as a templet.

Like I said, why post modified templates, wait till you don't have to do this to post scripts.

Otherwise, its just another modified Item, and there are alot of those to many infact.

Like I said, I only use them as a templet, so I don't have to do all of it, it saves time, just forget I even said that earlier. I make my own ideas, and do most of it manually.

I suggest looking for GD13s script tool kit it is basically a bunch of template scripts and it has all the possable attributes all you do is change it to what you need. As funny as this may sound I use it to this day for most of my equipment because it just plain saves me alot of time. I do also suggest if using this to remove unused lines of code once you have it the way you want to cut down on the clutter in each script.

Really the best way to learn is by taking existing stuff other people have done looking at how it works changing it to see what you can make it do. That is how I have gotten to where I am and how many others have gotten to where they are. Once you do that enough times you will begin making stuff from scratch and learning new things. If you start making things and hit a snag just post errors and code and ask for help its pretty easy and there are alot of people to help that know what they are doing.
