Arrow AddonPaintbrush....um, its really different

I wasnt planning on releaseing this since it is one of the finished projects i mentioned in the fishtank post, but i really enjoyed having such an immediate and happy welcome back that i thought...why not?

Feedback extremely welcome!!!

This is a finished script. However, the things i learned in doing this have led me to a bigger project that will replace this, and add much of the functionality of pandora's box....in game with a twist.


What AddonPaintbrush does is four things....
Doubleclick the paintbrush, you get a target.

One:
Target the paintbrush itself and you get a item at your feet.
This item is an addon and can be chopped etc.

Two:
Target an ITEM (in your backpack, on the ground etc) Not a landtile or an addon piece!
The AddonPaintbrush changes it's own itemid, its name, and its hue to match the item you targeted.

Three:
Target an addoncomponent (any tile in an addon or the item at your feet created earlier)
The addoncomponent selected changes it's itemid, name and hue to match the AddonPaintbrush.

Four:
Target an addon that has the same itemid and it will raise the addon by 1 z.

Permissions:
Staff ----can use this anywhere by selecting the staff only context menu "mark" this sets the region allowed to be the current region you are in.
Players ----can use this only in a house that they are full owner of or in the region set on it by staff.

Installation: Add to your custom scripts folder...no mods needed.

Can anyone say Deco War?

In an open area add a premade addon.
Make the addon a region of it's own.
Create a region for each teams building area.
Set a AddonPaintbrush for team 1's region and dupe it for the number of players on that team. (Or lock it down in the region)
Do the same for each team. The AddonPaintbrush will not work outside of it's assigned region.

Remember: The paintbrush will not copy the id's of an addon so they will have to scavenge the shard for a portable version of the item they want to place in their copy!

First team to sucsessfully copy the the premade addon in their own area wins!

Since this was not intended to be released originally, i have not commented in the script at all, if there is a desire for a detailed documentation, let me know and i will whip one up.

Excellent event and use idea..I have tried this out and it is amazing..I shall be looking to create an area on the shard for this...

Still love this animated fishtanks too

thought of something else this could work for...

make it limited uses then deletes..set up an area of things you do not mind players duping...and then hand these out for event rewards or referral program rewards..ect....with limited uses and being able to set where it works at you can basically free up staff for other things let players choose item(s) they want..

maybe? maybe not?

I am currently going through a list of every tile you see in the static tile section of InsideUO and sorting it as to type. In Pelops Resurrection, players will have to target a tile to add it to the tool.
(scriptwise the tile must be in the acceptable list to be added)
Once a tile is added to the tool the player can add a "decoitem" of it in their house and move it n, s, e, w, u, d, secure it, name it, hue it, tile it, i forget what else i put in.
At any time the player may view all the tiles they have added.

That would be cool, but might conflict with items that can be crafted. But of course if you made it to where admin could remove the ones he wishes at will as you mentioned, that would be prime! It would be a good tool for learning GMs as well.

If you can make that, that would give me some idea on how to make a tool for crafting stone into wall, stairs, floor, and whatever else, parts that could have the ability of being destructable and made static for a totaly destuctable world. By looking at the way you made your script that is.

Still a bit lost on how to accomplish that, but of course, for another day and time.


Getting these deco ideas for the players to be able to indulge themselves in are a good addition. Though it would be more helpful if they were set up in a manner in which players could craft them based upon skill, perhaps? Might give more meaning to merchants I suppose. But thats only my opinion. Either way, I enjoy your additons mate. They really are an attribute to the community, and usually in some way or fashion, I work them into my shard when needed.
