Description:
Allows Tamers to LOWER the tamed creatures minimum taming skill Reason for Scripting: As I evaluated the Tamer Class, I concluded it was kinda lame that a tamer could go out and tame a bunch of dragons, tough mounts, etc. and not be able to sell them to players because the player was a mage or warrior and therefore, had low taming skill...thus the player who bought the pet was unable to control it. Drawbacks: This script will allow any character class to control high level pets. Shard owners should consider the balance of implementing this script due to the fact that it will enable players to control very high level pets, without the need for high taming skills. The deed effect is permanent. How it works: A tamer, or pet owner, double clicks the Pet Control Deed. A target appears and the tamer, or pet owner, then clicks the pet for which he wishes to lower the control level for. He then makes the transfer to the player he is dealing with. ONLY the owner of the pet can use the deed. Another usage is for the tamer to sell his pets on a vendor. The tamer can use the deed on the pet BEFORE he shrinks it. Then place it on the vendor for sale. |

One way to balance this script would be to have it also lower the high level creatures skill and stat caps so that it may only become so strong for a normal player to controll it. You could do this in 2 ways one would be to pop a gump on the use of the scroll saying it will do this and why and ask for confermation the other would be to check the skill of the player it is being transfered to and cause the effect to happen when the pet is transfered to an owner lacking in taming most likely done in basecreature.cs

Oh nice idea
another thing that can be done without alot of work (I think) is to allow npc to buy more tamed animals.... that would help keep so many white wryms and nightmares running about . But also add a source of income for tamers if there was not a need for say a nightmare at the moment.. But very nice idea and thank you for sharing it with us

Wow, I like the idea of this script. And I think it is also realistic, because an already trained animal will be easier to handle than a wild one, would it? *grins*
Thanks a lot for your contribution. Will try it out asap. Liacs

Thanks for the input...
Everyone here has made solid suggestions. However, I will not support any further dev on this script (in other words, I'll not change it further). Please feel free to use it as a foundation for your own ideas. This simple script is merely an attempt to provide an enhanced tamer economy. Use it, or its' concept, to enable such an economy on your shard. I hope this sparks many ideas. |

Good observation. The script can be adjusted however desired to best suit the needs of the user shard. To adjust the minimum taming value go to line 38 in the script... Code:
k.MinTameSkill = 0.1; |
