I took it upon myself to find the original Paintball Scripts and edit them to Runuo 2.0 RC2 because i like this event system so much!

    • Various tweaks to code to make things work.
    • New names for files/items (The reason I put "Beta" up there , I sometimes change my mind with things of this nature)
    • Weapons actually PAINT armor now, instead of having them delete the pieces.
  • 1.0.0 - Basic game of Paintball. Currently supports up to 4 teams. Very little else is implemented yet...waiting for feedback.

Description :
Paintball
Add Game Stone with [add PBGameItem
Players double click Game Stone. Stone will add player to the next open team. Stone stores players Stats/fame/karma/kills/skills and sets all skills/stats to 100. Player's items are then stripped off and banked in a bag. And the PBGame armor and weapon are added with the team hue. The Bow will automatically check to see if the defender is of a different team by checking the hue of their armor. When the player looses all their armor and is hit once more, they are teleported to the ExitDest.

Installation :
Simply put the files in your Customs folder. No base script edits needed.

I have added it to my shard... I'm waiting for some people to help me test it out. I'll let you know if there are any bugs or anything. This is a nice upgrade from the one we had! I love the ability to have more than one team, plus the scoreboard is a very nice touch.

Looks like you made it just raise a few skills to 100, might want to add anatomy to get rid of those annoying skill messages while playing.
Also, whats to prevent players from just keeping those skills/stats at 100 once the game is finished? When testing I had to manually click the storage chip to restore skills to normal

Well Amy, i didnt make the original Paintball Script i just updated it to work with Runuo 2.0 RC2. Although it would be a very simple fix to correct the above mentioned things.

For example all you would have to do to make players use their storage chip is make a moongate that checks their bank and pack and if they havent used the chip yet it will not let them to go through the gate.

Yeah the moongate idea sounds pretty good, I'll either do something like that, or just make it use the chip automaticaly when the games done.
I never tried the original paintball script so I wasn't sure if the chip/skills thing was by design or by mistake

I like this system a lot. Though, it does need a few things. (I'm just making some recommendations for anyone that might wanna do this... because I sure don't know how to do it.) Here's what I noticed:

- If a player clicks on the stone (say someone is like... hey, what is this?) and there is nobody else there to play the game, then they are stuck until a GM either removes them or someone else comes along. A timer to check and see after so long if there is enough to start the game would be nice. That way, if someone is added to a team (and it's only them), they will be kicked back out after so long of nobody else joining.

- The moongate idea is nice. What I think would be even nicer, is if the system could automatically re-equip your items & use the chip at either the end of the game, or by walking through a special moongate. I actually have my paintball area setup as a 'shop', in which they are then taken to the 'arena'. When they lose, they come back to the shop and leave from there. It would be really easy for them to just walk through the gate exit and not use the chip to bring their skills back.

Other than that... the system is really nice! I can't wait to have some paintball games with my players. I love the fact it has a scoreboard and you can do actual organized teams.

Yes but players should not be able to access the paintball area unless an event is being held in which case a gm would be present. Still not a bad idea just the same.

This would be a good idea, I will work on this in my spare time.

This new update but one bug is that if the stone is inactive players can still join. I know the arena should not be opened until the event start but what is someone finds way to get to the stone and joins and stuck there until gm comes to remove them?

i have fixed this bug in my new relese i am working on. I have set a bool on the stone named CanJoin to false so unless a gm turns it to true no one can join.

Ok, that would take care of someone 'accidentally' joining in my above post.

I do understand that the system is designed to be an 'event', rather than free standing... but I'm sure my players would love the idea of being able to just stop what their doing and saying: "Hey... wanna go play some paintball?"

It might be too much of a chore to change it to an 'open' type of system... but this paintball system is one of the better ones out there and it does it very well!

I look forward to your changes / updates. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this!

I was thinking, it would be cool to add Explode pots called "Paint Grenades" that players could throw and dmg other players as well.

Yea, i got permission from A_Li_N to do a bit of redoing to his script, it will have two versions incorporated into one script. you can set the game to classic paintball or set it to my mod. and my mod has a few new additions as well as some cool changes. for example Paintball grenades!!! more to come

Will this new release be SVN, RC1, or RC2 compatible? I like rc1 and rc2 but not SVN, so I figured I would ask... Also, if it was only going to be set for 1 of the 3, could you make it so it works on all of them or have it so we can download for whichever we use - ie 2-3 versions of it?
