Default Custom Gumps & Paperdoll Art

note: when makign patches and gump art and muls, allways make backups of your progress. and rarly overwright a file unless you are sure its the right one.

this guide is to provide insite on how to add custom art to the client, not a ful on guid on each aspect of this. I will provide an example of my work.

================================================== =====
Making custom gumps, or images for your patch to the client can be a combination of skill and a few dance moves. I will provide examples of the use of two programs, im sure there are a few other programs, but i will provide documentation for these two. Because i am provideding gump art information, and not tile data or statics.

lets begin. You will need to import the gump art (asuming you already have the pic you whant to import) you will also need to know the gump id for the corespondgin gump for you to overide. I will list the gump ids i know a lil later in this guide.

GumpEditor (Download link here)
the program i use to import .bmp . basical you can open .mul files that are gump art or create a new mul file andimport a .bmp file once you have added the bmp's with correct gump id's save the mul. then proceed to next pogram.

some points to remeber when importing .bmp files. Black is the color the client uses for transperant. you will need to use a difrent shade of black or grey for dark areas if your making images your self

Q:where do i find images to import?
A:
there is one i rember but dont remeber the website. there are some others aswell. how ever you can make your own paperdolls or stuff like that, the armor will be a lil tricky to aling if you dont know or dont have an existing image to go on for armor or weapons. Agen this is to describe basic importing and patching for new clients.

================================================== =

Now onto makign a patch.
MUO patching tool
im sure some of you have used this for other things, how ever i will provide the gump side to this.

Step one:
you will need to import the verdatafile, to do so go to File > Import then the next window shoul look like this.

find and import the mul file you just added.

now on the left click the "GUMPS" from the list. then on the right window. click the top listed one. then scroll down to last on on the right, hold SHift and click the last one, higlighting them all.

Now Rightclick on one of them on the right, making sure they are all highlighted.

and make sure the checkmare isnt there!! if you are using a new client with patches from OSI, dated after AOS you can not use the mul otptions, one the checkmark is gone, save the MUO file. and then go patch the client!!

==============================================
Q: I have added the mul file to MUOtool, and saved it , i have patched the client through uogateway using .rar but it isnt showing up!?
A:
Make sure the checkmark on last steps of MUO tool is not there.

Q:How do i patch this muo tool?
A:
You will need to .Rar the muo file, then upload the .Rar file to an ftp or your website, copy the link using uogateway eather crate a local server (to test patch out) or log in on uogateway to edit your server listing and add the patch to the patch link list.

Q: What are the links to some gump art?
A:
i used to have 3 on my favs, how ever, i recently reformated and lost alot of data cause i ran outa places to store mys stuff, how ever if somone ddoes have the lings, pm me and ill add to this.

===========================================
Examples

here are a few examples of my work, and please dont steal.

this one is no wheres near compleated, how ever you can see how customizing can change the feal no matte how small.

this one i have had for about 1 and half years, its pritty close to compleation, till ea changed some gumpings =/

i hope this provides you with some insiteo n the matter of how to import images into uo, or change gumps to add flair to your shard.
