Hardware and your shard.

I've seen many posts from people asking about what type of hardware to put together for a shard and what to expect for save times and bandwidth needed. So I thought I'd start an FAQ thread that would help with that. If you run a shard fill in the blanks below and post. Please just ONE post only, DO NOT mention your shard by name. Also no chit-chatting, I can't moderate it so hopefully we can stick with just the facts!

If I missed anything crucial feel free to add the info to your form and I'll notice and update mine. It's pretty self explantory, but just in case I'll explain some of it. List your CPU, whether you have more then one and what you've clocked it at. If you've Overclocked it note on the line. Like:

CPU(s)/Speed: Intel E6600 2.4Ghz OCed to 3.00Ghz

Same with memory, amount and speed. If you know your FSB speed and/or your motherboard note that too. Your speed to the Internet and if you have different speeds up vs. down. Then use task manager and the networking tab and show what your Network Utilization and Link Speed shows.

And finally what OS you are running. I thought about collecting HD info/type/speed but for the most part I've found that doesn't make much of a difference then the first 3 mentioned. If you have some unique setup that you think makes a difference feel free to list in "Other:", like WD Raptor/4 stripped RAID or something like that. Don't bother if it's nothing really unique though.

For shard statictics specify the type and version of RunUO you're running. Then use the [admin -> Information command and list Mobiles/Items/Memory used by the shard. Then give your average save time. Note: DO NOT use the first save time after the shard is started as that one is usually much much longer then your average save time.
