Default Question of Hues and Colors

I've searched the forums and can't seem to find anything that would explain the system of Hues and colors used in UO. I see some listed in hex, others in decimal. When and where do I use which?

Also can someone point me in the direction of a color (hue) table that I can use to change text hues, etc?

Thanks!

Well, if you want a good hue table, get Inside UO. You'll get hues, sounds, tiles, multis, animations... A very nice tool for developers.

OK, I got Inside UO, and I'm looking at the list of hues. I understand that the value listed on the leftmost column is the value I want to use, but what I don't understand is the color chart itself. On the left it's almost black and increases in hue to the right. This is where I get lost.

If the number on the left is... lets say 131, does it refer to the lowest color on the chart in that row? or is it describing a whole range (from left to right on the color chart)?

How do I tell exactly what color I'll end up with?

Thanks so far!

Thanks David for moving this post to the correct forum. After thinking about it I agree.

Word of caution with InsideUO: It's off by 2.

If you see that colour 1107 looks good in InsideUO, use colour 1109. (I may have that backwards)

Dunno what to tell you, Seven. But (and David seems to have it the same as I), for all the time I've used InsideUO (Long Time), it's been off by two. You may have a newer/older version.

Thanks guys, I spent a few hours last night playing with this and I think I have it figured out. BTW - I find that Inside UO is 2 off as well, if I want color 138 I use 140.

Thanks again!
