I was just wondering how RunUO compared to sphere server in customization, features, and managability. For example "Why would I switch from a sphere server to a RunUO server." I have been watching the developement of RunUO for some time and I have been impressed with the following it has created, so RunUO must be doing something right. Thanks for your comments.

Having run Sphere for 2 years myself, let me insure you you definitely have no comparison on how it works and what you do to make it work,... they are entirely separate entities that have nothing in common but UO as Phantom says... but...
As for playability and quality, send Sphere packing and get cracking cuz once you've tasted RunUO, no matter how inexperienced you are, you won't ever want to go back to Sphere. |

You couldn't PAY me enough to eat a Lincoln Log. I mean, they're cigar shaped and brown. Like turds with notches in the ends. I couldn't even bear to nibble on the little ones.
I also wouldn't eat any part of an erector set, just on general principles. I mean... I'm a guy. I did snort the powder from an Etch-A-Sketch though once. Wasn't much of a trip. Sort of a straight-line dash and then I came down. That was about all there was to it. Nowhere near as trippy as the Spirograph high, and not as colorful as the Lite-Brite buzz. You get the munchies bad though, and trying to make anything in as Easy Bake Oven seems to take a friggin age. |

My favorite were always the green roofing strips. Very tasty. Not quite as good as the plastic toys you made with a vac-u-form, but tasty nonetheless.

Sure, Play-Doh has a pleasing flavor and consistency, but you had to work it in your hands for about half an hour before you could do anything useful with it. Silly Putty made a nice snack right out of the egg. One of my favorite games as a kid was to roll it into a ball, bounce it on the table, and try to take bites on the bounce. After the first chomp, it tends to take a bad bounce. Sort of like chasing a tiny football around the kitchen with your face.

i prefer runuo myself (otherwise i wouldn't visit this forum) but there (still) is one mayor advantage speaking for sphere...
it has been around for ages... you can find lots and lots of scripts and more competent scripter than for runuo... but i believe these advantages will level themselfs over the coming months |
