An email from a player of mine:

Quote:
Darkling,

I'm not sure what you did... but whatever you did to the server you host Shard-UDIC on... I just want to let you know it was running exceptionally fast last night. I got on around 10:00 PM CST, and was able to run while riding a horse with very minimal lag once in a while. When I first got on to your shard on dialup, I would attempt to run with a horse and I would lag constantly every couple of steps.. last night was beautiful! I had not played in a while on Shard-UDIC because of connectivity issues... but you can bet I will be back on tonight if I can play with the minimal lag I had last night.

I just want you to know whatever you did this last weekend, or yesterday, did the trick to help with play/lag issues.

YOU ARE AWESOME, Darkling! :)
So, I don't think it DOES use more bandwidth... He's been on since as well, and has been sayind more or less the same thing.

Beta 36 has nothing that would make it take more bandwidth.

Also making 3-4 posts about this subject is gay, all the people that show their shit have said they don't have a problem with lag.

If you have lag then well its your connection thats the problem.

Beta35 50 players little lag. Beta36 bearly 20 and there is massive lag.
Used DU meter and saw that beta 36 uses 2X the bandwidth per player.

These are betas tested stright out of the rar, no edits. Anyone connected via the lan has 0 lag, where as players via the internet do. With 10 players on the bandwidth spikes between 6kbps and 12 kbps (12 being my max upload) in beta 36, especialy seen when someone logs in, this isn't so with beta 35.

Your crazy

UO Gamers on its original host 200 players = zero lag

Explain that?

Beta 36 has nothing that would cause that, it has to be something wrong with your setup.

Well deny all you want, I know the truth because of testing it myself. I will be sticking wih beta 35 and recommend to anyone with low uploads speeds to do the same.
