Use best weapon skill - RunUO

Just a simple question which may be obvious to others..

Does Use Best Weapon skill include archery?

For example...

0 swords
100 Archery

Katana with use best weapon skill. will it use the archery skill?

No.

It takes only weapon skills. OSI considers only macing, swords and fencing a weapon skill. Archery and wrestling will not affect UBWS weapons.

If you consider archery then you have to consider magery necromancy and chivalry as well.

Magery i could understand, since it's actually a skill used to fight/kill.

Necromancy . . . Well, maybe. It's knd of a mixture between offensive and defensive.

Chivalry is a pure support skill and not really used to fight.

However, none of them is a weapon skill. Archery is. But i do understand why archery won't affect UBWS weapons.

I unfortunately have to disagree with you on this one. Archery uses a weapon that must be equipped.

Please look at the date of posts in a thread before posting in it and try not to bump old threads. If this post was meant to express the point that the 'Use Best Weapon' skill should include Archery, then this post should have been made in the Suggestions and Ideas forum.
