Default Run Uo in Vmware

I'm currently running FreeBSD 5.2.1-Release with vmware used for a windows installation. I was wondering how good would a runuo server run through vmware?

I doubt very well. VMWare isn't made to have things connect to the virtual ethernet.

Says who? Any TCP/IP stack with half a brain (Yes, Windows' stack falls into this category...) can figure out whether or not a packet received by a NIC belongs to the OS, and VMWare is capable of bridging directly to the NIC.

Using VMware your performance will be slightly lower than through a dedicated windows box, but if the hardware is up to it should be no worries.
