hehe great idea.....opens up a player profession of real estate broker possibly....selling homes at commpetative costs to the npc's....of course have to allow more houses per player but.....

i like the idea either way.....i know i would use it

It does sound interesting. Not entirely sure how the entire system, given it's complexity and seemingly demanding sizable playerbase, would function on a small shard. I do like the increasing value when placed near other homes. Sets up a suburbs kind of deal that would affect a shard at any size. Since generally players try and stay close together.

Not trying to get off-topic just curious, but with the spur of non-OSI like additions you (and/or you guys) are looking into. Does this mean you're bored with sticking to OSI? Done with OSI additions? Doing both to 'spice up the development'? Or what? Not complaining or anything, it's actually nice to see some of this because it's starting to stir original ideas in my head as well.

Two thumbs way up.

I think these are great ideas that should be set default false with a bool to enable disable them. Personally I think I would enable them since they do only add to UO and make it more real. I think these ideas are fine as long as the dev team is still going to finish adding all the stuff they haven't gotten to. Item Bless deed for one has been around forever and still not in distro

. I must say these are some really good creative ideas I don't think I would ever think of.

Sounds cool... and if you don`t pay you can declare yourself in bankrupcy or what? LOL

What I would like to see in RunUO if its possible its House Renting. Ive seen this in a sphere shard. There is many houses in the statics (city houses) that have no use. There could be a system (using regions) where you can pay the renting of the house to be the owner, and only you and the people who are declared friends and/or co-owners of the house can enter.

Imagine newbies who have not much money living in groups of 4 in a little house in order to be able to pay the rent...

Lords and Ladies provided and loaned their own town money to build and stock up the markets and they had to repay the lords and ladies either in goods or money, thats why when lords and ladies had *CITY TAXES* lol if you noticed what i mean

On my server, my friend put houses at about -10z or something under the static ones so they can later be given as rewards to players.

I like this concept too... would possibly make it so that a player who can't normally afford the house they want still be able to get it and make payments.

This is an awesome idea! w/a property tax system encluded or rental option this could help keep shards clean of "unused accounts". Basically sorry you didn't pay your morgage/taxes/rent and all your belongings were confiscated and donated to good will. Good luck starting over lolololol Maybe a prepayment option to be worked in so if peeps are going to know they'll be gone a month they can protect their investments!

Vendors on osi kinda do this already.... I'm not a scripter (just a wanna be) so I'm not sure how hard it would be to combine statichousing w/a rental agreement instead of a purchase plan.... so basically end up w/2 options... rent or buy
