Good web site hosts...and cheap??

im looking for a place to host my site....where i can use a domain name and all the different php pearl ect. ect......but what is a good place for it?? that offers decent space and bandwith....right now i found this place called Canaca and it seems good.....i was looking at their gold or silver plan.....but am just looking for suggestions for anywhere else...mabey cheaper, more space....just whatever people would recommend

Looks better then what I'm using. I am currently using www.godaddy.com but Canaca looks like a good deal I just don't know about there reliability. Also I never heard anything about them either. but hay try them out and if it does not work out just switch webservers.

is that a more or less continual hosting plan you're offering ryan?

I think I may have my shard site up by the end of the year eventually followed by the server which will probably be in early beta by then.

I won't be needing anything fancy... going to be a full fledged flash-site probably with some PHP forums attached to it if I can ever find a forum that agrees with me :P

A bit early to discuss this now since my entire plan is in early development but it probably can't hurt to know these things right now.

Even for the most extensive needs I have never asked for mroe than 5 dollars a month in donations. I freely hand out 25 gigs of transfer to most, and 5 gigs to others. As I said it just depends on what you are trying to do

Sounds interesting enough.

I am gunning for a fairly small freeshard 50 players tops after a 100 people start up phase (then weeding out the not quite so pleasant players down to 50 players).

Since I have special plans and systems already in the experimental phase the forums will probably be used by all the players on a daily basis (I'll make them).

No website downloads, no large community portal. No silly scripts, java plugins just flash and php at it's best. Pretty down to earth really.
Working on full-site 3d animation for the site. Lots of plans... plenty of time and no hurry hehe

Good to know the possibility is there to have a nice site-host here and I will get back to you in a few months about it. Feel free to forget all about this till then (like I could keep you from forgetting hehe).

One more thing, you'd get access to the PLESK control panel which allows you to control your email accounts, forwarders, mailing lists, databases and everything like that.
