Default Ship problem...

I have a problem. My player sail in the sea and suddenly was disconnected (due to players connection
problems). 3 Minutes later he join the game again. He was still on the ship. Few minutes later he was
disconnected again for about 5 minutes. When he join, he was in the land. The ship is lost (?). Is this
possible ? Now he insist to return him a ship. What do you think i must to do ?
Is it possible too find his lost ship ? He still have a key. Is the recall spell on key will teleport
to the ship ?

This has always been like this, even in osi, your player has to deal with it.

Recall @ key. If this doesn't work, then the ship is lost.

What you will do then, is up to you. Just think about this. Can you go to your bank and withdraw 1000$ then come back later and claim you lost them and it was the fault of the bank and they should give you another 1000$? No? Well, I thought so...

Is his ship crash or something ? Or server count ship without player and not on ancor as a lost ship and delete it ?

Why the player was in the land ?
Is runuo select closest location on the land and teleport him there ?

I dont have some much expirence as a gm/admin of runuo...
Sorry for so much questions...

thanx

Default hmm

from my experience on OSI, this action (being booted off of a boat after a disconnect) would occurr if, when the player got disconnected the boat was still moving, when the player logs in, there will be no "support" to hold his character (since the boat was moving when he disconnected), and so it shoots the player to the "LAST" piece of land he was at. That's how it worked on OSI anyways, but I havent played there in like a year in a half or so :P

Im guessing you are an Admin or GM on this shard? Well, it's up to you whether you want to "reimburse" him for his lost item :P If when you recall onto the boat key (MUST BE THE ORIGINAL, as per OSI when I played, Im sure its the same here with RunUO but I dont have much experiences with boats on RunUO yet ) the character doesn't get transported to the boat, what most likely occurred is the user forgot to refresh the boat (double clicking either of the planks with 1 of the 2 "master" "a ship key" 's on his person).

Hope that helps

I agree that I would not get in the habit of replacing lost items... even if it does turn out to be a server glitch. He should play it off as the ship was lost at sea and he washed up on the shore. You are not responsible for bugs or glitches, to accept responsibility would be asking for abuse from your Players.

I agree that it is up to the Admin to replace or not...If it trully is a shard glitch it is always nice to keep the "customer" happy, but tell him/her you will not do it again. this is a 1 time deal. But if it is he didn't refresh, then I don't think you should replace it.
