I'm assuming you're behind a router. If so, you'll need to set up port forwarding on your router to forward port 2593 from your public address to your internal address. You'll also need to modify your ServerList.cs file and put in your public IP.
There are quite a few posts around the forums that'll help with this. Thanks, Phlegyas |

This post is kind of misleading... but if you mean that you are connecting through UOG on 127.0.0.1 and want to know you're actual IP, then here goes... If you are running Win9x, go to Run in the start menu, type Winipcfg and push enter. Make sure your ethernet adaptor is selected in the drop-box, and look at the IP listed. If you are using WinXP, go to Run, type cmd.exe and push enter, at the command prompt type ipconfig and push enter. It will tell you your IP address there as well. Just tell whoever you want to connect that IP and it should work. Also, if you ARE running on a router, you will need your external IP as well as the port forwarding mentioned in the previous post.

Well, I can get into my own shard - But its not running on my IP i know my IP and its not in my shardhost/ip box. But it still runs, for me atleast.
I just wanted to know if i submit my IP to UOG and make my shard public - will it run or will it be a whole different shard - My ports are already set at 2593 |

Ok, UOG can use local IPs, just for your computer. Your shard should ALREADY be public, unless you changed something in one of your cs files. It will automatically detect your public IP for itself. Once you find your real IP like I told you how, send THAT one to UOG. Sending an e-mail to uogateway.com doesn't alter your server in any way, it just adds a means for more people to know it exists, as has been said in many posts here. If you DID change your cs to 127.0.0.1, which you probobly didn't, you just copy an unaltered version of whatever file it is from the RunUO zip file over that one. Just follow the directions I said, or be more specific with your posts.

No, your server would already be public. As long as you are online and I know your IP address while your server is running, I can connect to it, meaning that it is public. I just went to uogateway.com's server submission area, and it says that you CAN have a public IP address. For example, you went to Winipcfg and it said your IP is 68.34.123.4. Well, that's what you submit. I really am having trouble understanding what you need help with, if you could explain better, I could help.

Define 'public' IP.. as far as I can tell all you are asking is if someone can connect to you... just submit whatever IP you found to RunUO, you can still connect through 127.0.0.1 from your own computer, but everyone else will just use that other IP. That other IP IS your public IP... unless you are meaning something different... if I am totally off, explain a little more what you are getting at.

That is NOT your public IP. I guess that you are using a router, so that is your SUBNET MASK. Since that is the case you CAN NOT use it on UOG. It is only usable for people in your local area network. To find your local IP in this case click http://www.askchopper.com/cgi-bin/private.pl. Your REAL IP should be in the top-right corner. Sorry about the site, just the only place I remember that uses public IP.
Also, this IP will be no good whatsoever unless you have port forwarding to 2593. If you need me to connect to your shard to see if you can get outside access, PM me with your external IP when it's up.
