Perhaps if you post the crash.log when it crashes your shard, someone can help figure out the cause and help.

You can find good bmps and mul files here:
http://www.pixelmethods.com/uodesign/ but building a custom map is the best way to go.

RAR is just like ZIP, except by a different company.

Go download WinRAR and you'll be fine.

Over at orbsydia.com they are working on a tool for building custom maps also its called UOLandscaper and looks real nice so you might want to check that out also if you do a custom map make sure you do atleast one thing and make a map of the new land for players to download because i played a shard with a custom map once and got completely lost in the middle of nowhere without the slightest idea of where the next town was and that sucked huge balls. well anyhow just thought id tell you bout the tool at orb and give a little advise.

An easy way to do it is as follows:

Backup all the statics files you plan to replace.

Delete the statics files you plan to replace.

Create an empty notepad file and rename it "statics0.mul" or whichever file it is you are replacing.

Do this for each statics file you want replaced.

You now have empty statics.

Don't forget to backup those files!
