Default Question regarding factions

Hello,
I tried contacting someone about this and can find nothing about it anywhere...
Was told factions were going to be released in september but was backdated due to ryan's surgery (hope thats gone ok btw) - Now what it is am playing on shards all over but UOGamers is only one with factions.. thats all fine and dandy but not being from america I can't play there without lag

Are runuo still going to eventually release factions to the public? or release an ETA? - Any non flaming answers would be very appreciated, thanks.

Shard, old UO like it should be. Quests, PvP, Trade and economy, first char. on account starts with 7xGM.

Actually they were never going to be released in September.

But they are a feature of the next release. Just recently we finished testing on the system.

Please don't argue with me about the date, I mean I am one of the people that wrote the system. I know of no such "date" you might be thinking of the Test Shard that never happened.

Thats great to know, thanks Phantom - yes I must have got confused with the test centre and dont intend to argue with ya :P

So next release is like RUNUO 2.0? am happy it's definatly in next release, thought it would be in 1.0 though - You guys deserve all support you can get and am in no way trying to say your failing etc hehe... Would I be cheeky in asking how the next release is going or do you guys not like to set deadlines just in case people like me come along and say "WTF WHERE IS IT?" hehe - just eager is all! tnx again

I thought they said something about a foreign shard that had the "official" factions.

They did give it to UODreams a RunUO server in france to test it.

It really doesn't matter who has been testing it.

Its going to be in the next release. time for this thread to be locked I think.

I see no reason to lock the thread. Soad was confused so I clarified. Just because some people had issues with UODreams getting factions doesn't mean this thread should be locked.

Yeah that issue over and done with hehe... You can lock thread if you like, I'm just really happy that all the testing has finished... So any clue on what else will be in next release? at least if their isn't much then it will probarbly be sooner it's released, cant wait to test this and hope it's what people say it is

Majority of the current publish including additiona made with UO:SE

I believe the current publish made additional changes not connected to the release of UO:SE thats why I treat it seperate.

Things I KNOW still need to be done:

Skills/Classes for SE
Quests for SE (working on it)
New Hiding/Stealth
New Honor Virtue
Vendor Overhaul (working on it)
Some of the new SE creatures (Some are done, some are almost done, some aren't started... Biggest problem here is that most of the new creatures have special abilities which takes time)
Proper Music For Zento (This will take like... 20 seconds :-P)
New Guild System
New Champ for SE/Tokuno
Crafting of new items (almost done)
More that I can't think of.

will thr be a toggle so peeps can decide if they want the old guild system vs new, ect? like an enable/disable toggle? because some things some shards will want and others they wont

The guild system is entirely scripted.

Mark has made it clear that he will put in a SE toggle.

However the guild changes were done in addition to SE changes.

So if you want to the old guild system, you will have to uncode the changes.

This is just an educated guess.

TBH if factions are finished testing and everyone so eager for them, why not just upload them to script submissions while we wait? ;p

Because they won't work with RC0 :-P

They require *CORE* changes.

Which means.... You have to wait for RC1.
