Default troubles with patching

Ok I use to play UO on my brothers comp but then i finally got a job and was able to buy a comp, but my friend said it would be cheaper and better to have one custom made and that he'd do it for me so i say sure, and so far ive had problems since day one of my comp, and one of them is that it wont patch with UO so i cant play on any player server, so i was wondering if anyone knew of a place where i could go to DL them so i can once again play UO that would be very helpfull.

You can't download the patches.

The only way to patch the client is throught the auto-patcher.

uninstall Uo, reinstall it, then patch it.

How is it not letting you download the patches?
Is it failing to connect to the patch server, if so its a protocol problem wich can be resolved by a re-install of UO(as stated above).

This happens from a fresh install?

If you can't patch read EA's troubleshooting page about patching.

If I read that log right, its getting the patch file fine, and hitting the error trying to apply it. This suggests protocol and communication is fine. My guess would be either a disk error (run scandiskk, defrag) or something protecting the file. Check if anything in your ultima online directory is write protected, and disable any antivirus software you have going. This ones a stretch, but it also could be your install cd is bad, and the installed game file is different from what the patch expects to see. Best guesses off the top O me head. Good luck with it.

i installed AoS, ive also tried with LBR and same results, they are not bad disks because my friend can install it just fine on his and i keep very good care of my CDs.
ive been to the UO website and did their troubleshooting which lead to nothing, havent tried going to EA's site tho...
I have no anti virus programs running, and/or fire walls when i try it

if you are using windows xp than this is most likely a security problem with windows i had the same trouble what happens is the uo directory will not accept a security setting properly or something so even though you are administrator that folder cannot be fully accessed just like you are a guest on the comp so to fix this turn on file sharing and make the uo directory a shared folder on a network you dont need to have a network up to do this and it solves the problem of not having access to the folder.

Not sure if you can afford it or not, but try to purchase UO: Samurai Empire.

Uninstall all Ultima Online files from your system (do not just delete), then Install UOSE, and attempt to patch. You will skip a lot of time and trouble starting out with UOSE.

I'm having trouble patching as well. However im on an extremely old version. 3.0.8j Patch 110 to be exact. I am getting so frustrated. I recently reopened my acct w/ ea for ultima and its been 48 hours since than and I am still unable to play. I have disabled firewall, closed all background programs, uninstalled and reinstalled, and still I get the same error message as he listed above. Any help on this is appreciated seeings how ea isnt helping much.

I did an install and patching of AOS recently, going to do the same with Samurai Empires soon. I didn't have any problems either installing OR patching AOS, though it did take a while and halfway through the patching process changed, so that uopatch.exe doesn't do ALL the updates (start with that one tho)

I would recommend starting by uninstalling UO and then go to where it was installed and delete the directory too. Then do a reinstallation of it and once it's installed start up uopatch.exe. If any of the patches fail go into the "patch" directory in your UO directory and delete the failed patch, and let it redownload it. Once uopatch.exe won't patch the game further (keep running it until it doesn't do anything) start up uo.exe and let THAT patch the game up.

The patch process switches from the small uopatch.exe patching screen to a larger window started by uo.exe itself, with a web page on one side and a more detailed patching status display on the bottom. But you need all the patches that uopatch.exe provides first.

Only after this is finished should you apply any customizations like custom hues, verdata.mul, rideable drake/dragon patches, etc. And remember keep your original files, since the next time UO is updated you'll have to revert to them, let it patch, and then reapply the updates.

I am kinda in agreement with Alari. I've also had the problems with patching, it gets about halfway into it, then fails to be able to apply one of the patches. I use custom verdata, tiledate, hue, radar, and a couple of other non-osi modified files. I think, its these files that are keeping the patches from being applied, since some of them get modified, by the SE patches.
I, however, had reinstalled those files AFTER the failed patching, cause I couldnt see any of my custom rideable anymore, and....I STILL couldnt see my wings, my dragons, and on top of that, I couldnt see the walls in the gumps of the custom housing.
Sooooooo.....I dunno.

Verdata no longer works with the OSI client.
