Default Multi server? a possibility? Stability vs load compare emu

Before i go on with the real topic i want to congrat the dev team for a nice done job so fare with RunUO. I have always been a sphere user cause it use to deliver more flexability then most other emus i tried(without having to know any sort of programming like c++) But those days is over..im very  when i launched RunUO lastnight. Simple love the paging system. 10 out of 10 stars !!!

Now for the real topic. :P

I was thinking if it was going to be a possibility to have RunUO supporting several servers running a world(sorta like OSIs but maybe when they have to enter a dungeons they are send to other server, and not having boundries which is annoying)

Second do you(dev team or any other who can answer the question) have any idea how much bandwidth RunUO takes per player?

Third Compared to for example the old UOX and sphereserver, Pol how much load can RunUO handle( etc lets say a 1,4 giga athlon xp 512 mb ddr ram 2100 running windows 2K pro having a world file of 180K items and 4K npcs +x players)?

anyone having an idea on those subjects?

1) There simply is no reason for support like this. 99.7% of the shards will never be able to use more then one server. So I doubt it will ever be possible

2) I cannot answer this question. Takes the same amount as it always has taken X kb/player or something like that.

3) You cannot compare RunUO to any other emulator. The vendors do not have their items until a player goes into the buy menu. With Sectors added in Beta 18 you can have 4000 npcs and only maybe 500 of them will use CPU power ( an example if you do it right ). Its just not possible without testing it yourself. RunUO loaded I believe 500-1000 dummy player's when they first started. Although the server was alot better then your specs, you should have no problem running a medium to large shard since they are not the worst specs. You might want to add more Ram though....

1) A server would have to be designed from the begining to support this type of thing, which runuo is not. Also, I doubt you could find enough players to make this type of thing worth while, runuo can handle a few hundred, I have not heard of a player run shard requiring multi server.

2) I have no official numbers, but Zyx which I believe to be the largest runuo shard right now said they had about 70 k/s with 200 players logged in.... So if you do the math thats about 350 bytes per second per player.

3) It's pretty hard to compare runuo to other emus, try it out and see what happens :-P

to Phanthom and zippys answer on number 1.

I wasn't talking about having several high end machines running. But i have a lot of friends which is either admins or other sort of staff on shards who could use this. For example i have one real good pc with all the new fancy crap in it..and i got several older p3 450+ available all which i got from my father and other friends..u get those throwed in your neck where i live..useless to gaming..(more or less) But for just running a uo shard its ok good . i've been playing on a shard with a p3 600 handling an entire world with a minimum of 40+ players online..now think if we could set one machine to handle etc 1 dungeon. or 2 maybe..depends . Would be sweet... but of course if RunUO doesn't have the basic for this ability to become a reality its to bad i guess.
