Default a blue screen...

Hmm i'm not sure waht is happening but i have set up some spawners to spawn some dummys to fight back and forth. well i went and logged in with my brother computer and i get a blue screen every now and then on the server computer when ever i get close to the spawners on his computer. i'm not sure what it is because it doesn't have enough time to create a crash log. if anybody has any ideas i am welcome to them.

Blue screens are usually because your comp has run out of RAM.

On Windows 2k, Its says you had a 'physical memory dump' - Whatever the she-hat that is.

i have never had any problems befor. only recently started happening after upgraging to beta18, i have 512 mb or ram and doubt that i ran out considering i also have a 1gig virtual memory buffer defined. it was only using around 80megs of ram with us on it. so i doubt it was the ram. the problem seemd to not happen when i used the hide command on him so all the dummies wouldn't try to attack him.

but i also had a problem with my client crashing when i would click on a provisioner to bring up the menu so i could buy stuff.

i have a working install of AoS updated fully with the newest client 400c uoriced. i also play on osi and have no problems.

Uhh Nik in another post else where I think someone said that the buy menus for certain venders would cause you to crash if you had 4.0.0b/c unless you bought from Trammel ones? (I think I saw someone post that )

If the server is blue screening in win 2k or xp. But only when you have connections from another comp it could be a driver issue for your networkcard or even your network card.

I had this issue with a linksys card that even the manufactureres updatded driver did not fix.

I bought a 3 com card and have never seen the issue again.

The issue is with server out going packets. For me at least it was.
I could play anyone ele's shard with out trouble. Was only when clients connected to mine did I blue screen.

Default thanks

i changed the network card out and now it seems to work fine thanks mortis. but now the next problem is when any non-admin people try and talk to vendors using "buy" or the context menus their client will crash. if anybody ese is having this problem and fixed it i would sure like to know.

Thanks

with 128 the situation get's a lot better

I doubt blue screen has anything to do with system memory!
