Default Ever going to be a new GM Tool for RunUO?

Hey,

You might be thinking whats the point of getting a new RunUO tool, as pandora's box does the job fine. However, as RunUO gets updated more and more is their ever going to be a new UO GM Tool released? Pandora's box is outdated, and for the people who can' script well, editing the boxserver is more trouble than its worth.

So is there any new GM Tool for RunUO in the works? Or will it always be Pandora's box?

Pandora's Box will continue to work, only thing wrong with the compile version is the data is out of date. Boxserver also has been updated, took about 5 minutes for somebody to fix the code.

If it ever happens, the best GM tool will be an extension of PlayUO.

yar, but for world building, pandora's box is teh sex. If you use it for normal commands, you got problems tho... I've known people who use the nudge button cuz theyve never figured out there's an [inc command (cuz with the button you have to change the amount they end up sending something straight in the air)

as far as another tool... I belive phantom was working on something, you'll have to reach him via outside channels though, as he has been banned.

I could probably whip something up in Delphi, but I suck at GUIs . It really wouldn't be that difficult to get it started. The complicated things that Pandora does like world spawning I probably couldn't reproduce though.

Regardless of people's reaction:

Phantom tried getting a team of RunUO people together to update Pandora's Box with new data, and functionality (the name I think was supposed to be Hephaestus's Forge). I don't know if much progress was completed.

If someone is really interested, perhaps we can contact Phantom/Seanchen.net, and coerce him into sharing what was done and take it from there.

It was my impression that it didn't get far, and Phantom had other stuff to do.

He might message me and tell me I'm completely off the mark.

Some of my devs were making a new GM Tool, for custom map we're messing with on the side. Not sure if it would interest the masses or not. prob have beta in earily summer .. for now we've called it UO DevToolKit v1.0 its similar to pandora's box but we've add systems to help with world design .. for project we're casually messing/building the tool .. been sick, and admins building it are moving so I can post info if people interested later..

Talked to Phantom -

He said it's sort of on hold right now because he has nobody to help him... but anyone interested in helping, it would be greatly appreciated. Shoot him an email at TheDarkerPhantom -at- gmail -dot- com.

You can also make a post/PM at LearnUO.

Actually I don't see anything wrong with Pandora's Box. And the source is available, so there isn't anything stopping anyone from updating it.

Id have to agree, why make something from scratch when you have something that works just fine to begin with. Use it as the basis and build from it

If my memory is correct, this is precisely what they were doing but in addition possibly change languages.
