Probably a little late on this, but I saw that article as well. There is nothing they can do about RunUO as there is no copyright violation. RunUO doesn't distribute anything created by EA. All RunUO distributes is a server, the client is downloaded for free directly from EA. The only thing anyone playing free servers does is break the TOS of the client. The only thing breaking the TOS can lead to is banning from OSI servers.
Unless some new legislation gets passed, there isn't really any legal thing they can do.
