Default Any interest in a web site dedicated to editing the UO client?

I've tinkered around with the UO client for many years now, and I've collected and saved just about every utility and bit of information on this that has ever been published.

I was thinking about putting up a new web site that is dedicated to UO client editing...tutorials, utilities, file library, and a discussion forum.

But I don't want to invest the time and effort in this unless the site and the forums are going to get some use. So I thought I would ask here whether or not there are a lot of people who would be interested in a site like this, and would you visit and post in the forums?

I don't want to be the only person posting and developing tutorials and content - if I do this I'd like to see it become a site where the community supports each another.

Sure, I'd stalk you there...er participate.
Have you accumulated enough content to warrant an entire forum? If not, maybe they'd consider adding another subforum here for it... just a thought.

I'd probably break the forums up into different areas. Something like:

General Discussion
Contributions
Map Editing
Static Art and Gumps
Animations
Other

Probably most discussion occuring in "General" and then specialized forums for Q&A on different areas.

The main page would have news, tutorials and links to the file library.

If you know XNA (even if its just a little) or are a good artist(2d or 3d) and are interested in making games for a hobby send me a pm or drop by #xna in irc.runuo.com. I'm looking to put together a small game development team.

Not only would I use it but I have a lot to contribute.

About 4 years ago I worked in sphere and then in runuo making a custom map from scratch with a bunch of guys. I generated trees, rocks, etc and then built the cities up with them (about 5 guys).

We worked on it for about 9 months (screenshots of us building it at the bottom).

It turned out afterwards though that our map file that one of the guys contributed as "original" wasn't, and he had plagerized it off a website. We kept going with the project though because that was only about 10% of the work and we had already completed so much.

I can contribute the map and static files and some tuturials on how to build your own map. If this forum gets enough popularity I can code some commands into RunUO, if they haven't already, so that will allow a more easier time editing the world for players. For example, generating legit roofs for custom made buildings was our biggest hassle. We had to use 3rd party programs that only did 80% of the job and had to touch the rest up by hand.

I know alot about what players need because I had first hand experience for 9 months.

That's mainly a repository for artwork. I'm thinking of a site that is more centered around the technical end of it, and not just for art and gumps - it would include map creation, world building, animation editing, cliloc editing, etc.

Kleanthes´ Patching for Dummies is a little tutorial for the mulpatcher and covers many aspects of mul-editing. If you want to use (or translate) it: Feel free.

If you want the community to create the site why not make a Wiki? Just post the rules and goals of the wiki on the main page and the only work you will need to do is to advertise and pull people in.

If you make a wiki I'll jump in...

So nobody needs to register. Very good idea

okay im so newb when it comes to this muleditor thing i have been trying to figure out how to change my login screen to a custom one. i have found sites but everything is in another language. i havent really seen to much on details given on muleditor for this. so if you all can make this one of the first tutorials on the new forum i would be SO happy. thought i would put in a lil wish list. hehe :P

Took me awhile but i did finally figure it out. Still looking forward to this site.
