Greetings,

Did you happen to read OSI's tag line on 5of5?

change in MapDefinitions.cs

Code:
RegisterMap( 1, 1, 0, 7168, 4096, 0, "Trammel",		MapRules.TrammelRules );
to

Code:
RegisterMap( 1, 1, 1, 7168, 4096, 0, "Trammel",		MapRules.TrammelRules );

Put this in CurrentExpansion.cs

Code:
TileMatrixPatch.Enabled = false;

That's all and works

Default Patching

Helloo Again, Again , I hope this is right spot for this, but why is everyone patching to UO 6.0, I thought I had read elsewhere, Ryan said we weren't going the way of UO at this time, with graphics etc., so why do we need to patch. I gave up my reg. UO acct. so how do I patch if this is the needed thing at this time? I am confused Pls unconfuse an old gal!

My choice would be NOT to patch, but if you decide to or it is necessary for a shard you want to log on to, simply start the UO game as if you were going to connect to an OSI shard and it will patch for you. Simply select no after it patches and asks you to start the client.

Ryan is talking about RunUO not supporting the Kingdom Reborn client. That is an entirely new client.

And how does the new Client communicate with the Server ? I think with the same UO Protocol like the "old" Client. Maybe they added some new packets and a new encryption. But it's the same old, worse protocol.

That's not the point. The point is, the client that RunUO isn't supporting is Kingdom Reborn. So any new packets, features, etc. unique to Kingdom Reborn won't be supported.

The current 2D client, so far as I know, will continue to be supported.

And whats the problem? You cant use all new features. So what? I think UO has enough features.

Sigh. Let me spell it out for you.

Colette asked:

Quote:

I answered her question and explained that RunUO never said they wouldn't support the 6.0 clients. It's the Kingdom Reborn client they aren't supporting, it's an entirely seperate client. The current 2D client will continue to be supported.

Then you butted in and tried to turn it into a old client/new client debate.

Do you understand now?

Sorry but i don't understand you.

Quote:
entirely seperate client.
They use the same network protokol ! There is no different between the RunUO Server communication with UO:KR (new client) or Normal-2DClients (6.0 clients or whatever you like to say). Since 6.0.0+ they added 3-4 new packets also to the Normal-2D Client. I only want to say that there is no big need to support the UO:KR Client, because it should be working out of the box or with very little modifications.

What you mean with entirely seperate client? Only GFX is rendered with a different Engine. Thats all.

If you mean the Content...than i understand you (like new spells or items).

All I am doing is explaining to Colette which client the RunUO devs said they would not support.

I'm not saying the KR client won't work. Maybe it will, maybe it won't.

All I am saying is that the RunUO devs have stated they aren't going to provide any support for KR if it doesn't work, or if features from KR don't work.

Colette thought they were talking about no longer supporting the normal 2D client.

Gifted minds,

Thank you so much for showing the fix the map problem from OSI. The New Haven is quite neat actually. I can finally walk around in the city now and not fall in tile holes. Now, I got to fix the regions to show the New Haven area for guards. =)

I am at 6.0.1.3 and still fall in holes, have changed the MapDef to 1.
What else do I need to do to correct this??

Thanks!

Okay, just checking through this thread and noting what needs to be changed when we finally get our shard fully functional. I've checked on other shards that have had awful times of this.

Please correct me if I'm wrong anywhere here...

The Trammel mul files have been 'split'. While the Trammel file has been split, the other map/static/staidx files haven't been touched/altered so that they have "hidden walls".

Now adding the fact our shard is custom map/static/staidx, and we only use Felucca/Ilshenar/Malas and not Trammel, we would not need to do the changes prescribed here, correct?

I have been reading this and a few other topics about it. I have a few basic questions, at least for now, one can't make custom shards with altered maps with client 6.0.0.0 or higher?

I am pretty sure it's a no it's not possible, but there is a lot of information on the forums and I just want to make sure I got it right.

The other question is, if I use a client before 6.0.0.0 will there be invisible walls and holes in Tram or Fel?

you can't mix ver 5 & 6 clients and servers
diffs are disabled in ver 6, and so you must disable it on your server too

so if diffs are off you can only edit the remain files i presume
but the maps are split off now so that should be easyer

I figured I would just put the client file in a patch format so that players would have the same as the server.
*(Players doesn't mean the public in general, it's four people atm that are all friends. Just wanted to clear that up so no one thinks I am distributing the client freely.)

But when you freeze things on the map files it saves in diff format, or has that changed? I have been away for a long time and having to relearn a lot of this.

I too have been away a while... I would like to know what the implications of going forward with the 6.* client series is?

To keep performance to a maximum I of course want to freeze items into the data files as much as possible... will this still be possible?

What exactly does TileMatrixPpatch setting do?

Thanks guys, any insights you could provide would be greatly appreciated!
