Hello guys... this i guess will be my first post in this forum... well i have been reading some threads about how to create a shard and how to connect it to a sever but i cant seem to figure out how to start off.... i went to runuowiki.com but i did not understand some steps.. like for example the part that it says "hard way" and was asking you to look up a .svn server, i looked everywhere but i have to admit i dont know really what that is.... i followed the directions on how to hook up a router and all and i think i got it connected but everytime i launch gateway all i get is a screen that says verifying account... and it doesnt move from there... i am currently using the trail download for mondains, i have downloaded runuo version 2 and installed .net framework... like i said i am kind of lost in this process so if anyone has some spare time and could PLEASE show me how to start off will be amazing.... im guess i am what you guys call a noob!
i am using a wireless connection which is being provided by a d-link router... i do have access to the router and the dns and stuff... i just dont know if i am setting it up right... anyhow let me know if its possible for me to create my shard... thank you guys!!!!! |

The issue connecting could be a few different things, but most likely it is one of these:
1) Your router isn't allowing the connection to go through. You may need to allow port forwarding on your router for the port RunUO uses (default is 2593). Consult your router manual, and/or do a search here for "port forwarding". 2) Have you removed the encryption from the client? (Razor will do this automatically). 3) Your login.cfg in your client directory isn't configured correctly. Make sure it has the correct IP and port for your server. (If you just want to connect locally for testing purposes you can use 127.0.0.1 for the IP. This will only work for connecting from the same computer your server is run on). The SVN is a repository where the newest version of RunUO is. But that is for advanced users, you have to be able to compile the code and all. So don't worry about that for right now. RUO 2.0 RC1 is fine for now to get you up and running and to learn on. Hope this helps! |
