Hello, name is Damien.
I wonder if anyone is intrested in making a full-hardcore roleplaying shard. Which there will be only roleplaying. OOC is not allowed at anytime (except party or outgame chats). Not roleplaying = jail/ban I got a good story to build the shard on, alot of quest ideas and alot of event ideas etc. I really love RP and I cant find a good one out there. Let me shortly tel you all about the idea. Mondain, the necromancer is back. He and hes minions have taken over: Britain, Vesper, Minoc, Trinsic , Maganicia. He have destroyed: Moonglow, Yew and Minoc. Lord British is alive, but he and some caslte guards are hiding in the castle, locked the doors and put barrels etc infront of them. Lord Clainin the royal mage have saved as many as he can, and the surviving is located at Cove (We will decorate it and make it into a nice town) Not all monsters are in the shard, some of the existing ones is: Orcs, Dragons, wolfs, bears, savages etc. Some of the non existing: Darkfather (doom monsters) some undeads, drakes, kirins and unicorns etc. Bears, wolfs, panthers etc will attack on sight, its more irl like. Some new creatures is: Eskimos, living on ice island. Pirates, at Buc's. God I have more ideas for monsters, just some of them. Doom arties, paragon and tukuno artifacts does not exist. New arties will be added, but not super arties. They might be found in creatures, like a dagger named "Dragon's tooth" found in a dragon. Eskimos will be wearing "Walruss skin boots" And so on. I think I want the players to start off with some skills so they can roleplay more than fighting. Quest chains for getting titles, maybe a new item , gold and food. Events will be to save the towns, and at last the king. I got alot more ideas, anyone intrested? PM me. |

Your idea is good but are you advertising your shard?
If you are, this isnt the website to do that. Go to ConnectuO.com Im not getting on to you, I think your idea is good and all, its just people might take you the wrong why because you sort of look like your advertising. Anyway good Idea I might try it out if I have time. |

I setup a server which followed a similar storyline to the one that you wrote about above years ago under a different server platform....
Would anyone be interested in an RP shard, without much change to the story line, that's not quite so hardcore on jailing, but players strongly encouraged to RP? Aside from that, am I the only person who thinks the cooking skill is awesome, and that it should be emphasized more? I want to start a shard which requires drinking water to live, and where eating heavily impacts HP regain. It would be nice to see people in taverns, especially player run taverns. I'd be interested in making a T2A shard. Or maybe Pre-T2A? Would people here play a shard like this assuming it was run properly with enough bandwidth? ![]() Oh yeah, and whats up with the no mounts thing on UO Divinity? I want to make the cooking skill more usefull aswell, and pre-lbr would pwn, hated UO when LBR came out
![]() Reason why i pick Cove is because it isnt big and I can build a playerbase from there, make taverns etc. Also I want to decrease gold ALOT, i mean, who the heck carries around 3000 gold? I want the range of cost to be 1 - 30 gold pieces, players start with 60.

I want to make items hard to find, not the whole world will be spawned aswell.
The creatures has fled from the minions of Mondain, hiding in caves and yet untouch lands of Sosaria.

cooking on my shard has been taken to very high standards, I to believe it is a commonly overlooked skill and needed more attention
harvesting requires cooking, so does planting (unless you want to make weeds ), 80 diferent plants tooover 5 different cooking tools for different things, from sushi to vegi pizza, and other very weird dishes brewing, wine crafting, cheese making and other sub systems Even Potion brewing of special potions, requires cooking skill as the main skill blank scrolls are very hard to find on my shard, and to make them, step 1 requires cooking ![]()

Problem with todays shards is that they are to big (not playerbased)
I mean, like 5 facets for 14 players. I want to minimize the playground, make player acyually meet each other and have conversation, drink some ale, horseback ride, fish, hunt together. Monsters dont drop gold, they drop item. Gold can only be attained at other ways. I mean, a gazer with gold in hes pocket?

I love the ideas, i have over the years run servers in similar ways, however, finding players that will frequent the server is the difficult part.
*Most* players nowadays do not want to work for their character at all. They want everything handed over to them or they leave the server in search of a "freebie" shard that will cater to their every whim. Good luck making a shard like this though, i wish you the best.
