Apache virtualhost and flash - RunUO

Not sure if anyone here may be able to shed some light on this. I run a webserver using Apache 2.2.4 and have just started using virtual host. When using the virtual host .swf files will not display. however if I use my mainsite/foldername it works correctly. I am also able to see the flash if I use the virtualhost/whatever.swf. I have tried adding [ AddType application/x-shockwave-flash swf ] to the directory in the httpd.conf but this does not help. Does anyone have experience with virtualhost or have any ideas why this will not display?

P.S. I also runPHP 5.2.3
