How do I create my own shard !!!

Im an idiot lol tbh I need help I wanna start my own shard!!! see ppl say get runuo and all that but how the hell do I even start the shard???

1. read the tutorials here on forum
2. get RunUO and run it
3. customize it to some extent using Custom Script Releases
4. create your own map, design your own craft/war/social/quest systems and script them

Most important of all, remember to have fun exploring new things and avoid stress.

As you see, I've been around these forums for a while and I can say that these topics were discussed dozens of times.

You just try and learn what you can. If you don't do that way, or just play stupid, most people here will not be glad to help you.

You see, a lot of people come and ask trivial questions that can be solved by looking through forums - that eventually gets on members' nerves. Why don't all members add up their efforts instead of some taking other's time and energy?

Dude I cant even install RunUO it gets all messed and laggs and doesnt do anything

You first need to run it and ensure it's working (by joining your own shard). If you have troubles, read through this section (especially the first few topics on the top): Server Support on Windows - RunUO - Ultima Online Emulation

Now that you have all the needed info, you'll sure be fine

Everything Alrick said is true on every post in this thread EXCEPT... members who post to a thread are kind of expected to assist you with the answers to your problems if they know the process to finding a solution for your issue. Assisting you with an issue does not constitute simply telling people to search the forums for help, rather the first step is ALWAYS try to do things yourself, then if you can't find something ask (politely) for someone to help you find it.

When it comes to scripting: as long as you attempt to script a file yourself most people are willing to help you fix your errors if you post them on the forums. Nobody will ever write a script for you from scratch. If you want people to script things for you, it will cost you money (given that you're lucky enough to find a nice guy willing to do it) .

One last thing - just remember not everyone is born a teacher, so maintain patience when recieving help; if you don't understand something just be straight forward and maybe someone can explain things in a more easy to understand way. These forums can get brutal if you start double posting, insulting people, and lose control out of frustration. Well, good luck man.
