Default make money for your server, while saving money on bandwidth....

very tired lol and late.. noticed the title almost sounds like a Geiko comercial.

so while i was developing my website I came across the site, Its sorta like photobucket BUT has no bandwidth limitations, or file size limitations. Thus you could use it to host all your images for your server saving space, and when someone looks at say a screen shot* by clicking on a thumb * you earn like $0.0022 US - which isnt shit but it adds up and your saving money on bandwidth so its really just a win win.

heres a banner a link for the site.

Neat idea. But it's awful slow and I've gotten mysql connect errors too. They must be getting slammed and not prepare for the popularity. I wonder how they prevent someone from setting up bots to continuously click on pics they've upload. That could be a mess.

I haven't had many issues with them.. though early am est time they are very slow on my end. but the thumbnails come up fine just connecting to the site at those times, which prolly means the photos themselves if directly embedded(which you wouldnt get paid for) would come thru fine... I think thats due to uses on the other side of the globe ( from me ) hitting it hard.

the bot issue.. well I believe there IP logging for the photos.. so if say 1 photo is clicked 5,000 times by 1 ip in 1 day.. its obivious.. bot sure if its handled that way.. but i have seen it on their forums were people have had their account banned for bot clicking.

they are also SUPER strict about their clean policy... way more so then photobucket so dont use this for say uploading semi erotic photos lol.. i had a girl in a semi see thru top playing duck hunt and they deleted the entire album that the picture was in..

though for me the best part about it.. is the free bandwidth you get, and the little bit of kick back is just a bonus.

That's what actually made me do a little more looking. Too many of these picture holding sites become a haven for porn. There are enough of them around that we don't need another! Looks like a promising service for sure! ++ rep ++

I do not get a link from your post... I would be interested in checking this site out though. If you could post a link or at least the name and url I would appreciate it.

I would assume the banner was clickable... If there was one in your post. I do not see it. However, using the link CEO posted I cannot access the site from this connection (using a shared connection that blocks a lot of sites, including that one).

I will just have to check it out later, but now I can since there is a real link in the post. When you edited the original post you must have deleted or damaged the banner link in some way because it does not show at all on my screen when I look at the post.

I suppose it is possible, but other banners come through on the forums here... I just cannot go to many sites (cannot do that one, yahoo groups - which I run 2 of that are non-porn child safe places, and several other sites).... But who knows. However I now have the link posted a couple posts ago so I will check it out when I get the chance. Though it sounds like a cool place to have access to.

Basically, they make their money from website ads, google, etc.. and share it with you for getting them hits...

I'd still prefer to keep my images safe on my own secure servers and save myself the time of re-doing every image link in every web page if they do go under...

Besides that, I have unmonitored bw transfer so idc :P

I think this site is cool (at least in theory)... I look forward to trying to get an account with them when I get my current internet issues under control.
