Default Increased map size in recent client-versions?

Hey guys,

i'm a little confused. Can anyone tell me, whether the map0 size of the client has been increased with one of the latest patches? I remember, there was a large discussion about the new 6.0 client, but as far as I can remember, it was just about the seperation of map0 and map1.

Anyway, I just reinstalled and patched UO:ML after a brand new Windows installation and I noticed, that the size of staidx0.mul has been increased by more than 1mb. The staidx, as far as I know, correlates exactly to the map-size because it contains the file-positions of each item-stack in the 8x8 blocks of the map.

So a bigger staidx means more map-blocks which means the map size has been increased. Can you confirm this?
If the size has been changed, what is the exactly size now?

I'm sorry if i missed a discussion about this, but I didn't find anything using the search.

The only time Map0 size changed was with the ML clients when they added the elven lands.

Statics0.mul and Staidx0.mul contain all the decorations, so these files can grow larger independently of Map0.mul. The more decorations there are, the larger these files will be. Staidx0.mul isn't a fixed size, it will grow larger based on the number of decorations.

Yeah right, we started development before ML so we didn't catch this change. So what's the new map size then? I assume our server still uses 6144x4096 tiles.

And according to the file formats, the staidx0.mul size should always stay the same, only statics0.mul can change.

Edit: Nevermind the question, found it myself, the new map size is 7168x4096

You might be right about the index file, sorry. But glad you found the issue!
