Default Auto-equip feature recommendation.

To the development team of Run UO:

You should implement the feature as to double-click a weapon or clothing will automatically dress you, or place the weapon in hand. Also, for alchemy, have it so you least have to double-click the reagent and it'll do everything for you. You have the idea. Kthnx.

But if you were to have double-clicking weapon the means of equipping/unequipping it, how will you use it to carve corpses?
Any why would you want to double-click reagents when you have the pestal-and-mortar system?

Voran nailed it on the head...a d-click already gives a targeting icon on where to use a weapon or item...why change that? If it changed to d-click to equip then all many players would be doing is equipping and unequipping their weapon in the heat of a battle...

Are we too lazy as players to spend the minute to equip clothes and gear on the paperdoll?

Then script it. Its very possible...

If its possible to bring the Alchemy menu by double clicking reagents, then its possible to equip an item.

I hate it. How much lazier can UO players get?! Pretty soon you won't even have to use your mouse...

I hated that with sphere, the dblclick to equip... I like it for clothing but not for weapons. I also liked it for armor, but like a few people said, I think RUNUO should leave it out and if people want it they can script it.

Ok everyone...here's my 2 cents.
The ability to do this is scriptable...
If you desire this ability on your shard...put it there. If you don't, don't.
Most answers on these boards come down to that simple thought.
In my opinion, every option should be available. But the desire to implement it should be yours. If we all wanted the shards pre-customized, we'd be playing OSI...correct? Aren't the emu's around so we can customize these shards to what we believe it should be?

No, we play these emus because OSI sux at everything they do. All my friends and I left OSI because the GMs love the newbies and bend over for em, and they deny vets and right to do anything "illegal" like kill a newbies monster.
