Default Confused with router

Okay, to start off, im new to RunUo .

I've checked all the faq's and old posts to solve my problem but it's only making me more confused...

Im 90% sure im behind a router, I have a linksys attached to another computer to my house, and through the linksys im connected. I've downloaded the .NET framework, the RunUo files, and UOgateway, and i also set up a shard on UOG and connected to it but only behind the router (me and my brother can connect but a friend off the router can't connect). Ive edited the serverlist.cs file with my ip from start/run/cmd and typing in ipconfig /all:

public const string Address = "192.168.1.xxx";

I think it may also be a problem with port forwarding, but im not too sure what to do with that.

Thats all the info i can think of, thanks

The IP that you entered is your LAN IP, try using your WAN IP.

Lan = local area network, that's inside the router.
Wan = wide area network, that's the internet side.

You could use an IP identifier such as whatismyipaddress.com, but if you are on broadband then you may be behind an involuntary proxy. That means that your IP address would be incorrect. I recommend going to no-ip.com and downloading and using their DUC to determine the actuall WAN address, and updating their free IP updating service.

heh thanks, one more question though, i set up the DUC host with no-ip.com, the host is allthekings.no-ip.com and its currently running, now from here on i have not a clue on what to do. How do other users connect to my server. i read locojj's post ( Spell.cs ) and towards the bottom it says that i have to set port forwarding, under the linksys section it says something about a tab called forwarding, but i dont know what window he's under or how i get there, i've searched my computer and theres nothing about my linksys.

You have to connect to the router with a web broswer, as detailed in your user's guide.
