Just Starting UP - RunUO

I know this question has come up before and I have read each thread and tried the tricks stated. However, none worked

I have recently downloaded and started the runuo and tried to login via uogateway. I can't, nor can anyone esle.

I am on a networked computer not sure if that is the prob. we have allowed runuo through the firewall as well. If anyone can assist with this problem I would be ever so greatful.

Assuming the runuo server you are running is on the same computer you are useing to try and log on with??
Fire up UOG and in the top right side is creat localserver
enter ip 127.0.0.1
Also try this link http://www.runuo.com/forum/showthre...ight=ServerList
download the serverlist file and put it in place of your original one (best to make backup of original one first)
You can find your original one in C:\Program Files\RunUO Software Team\RunUO 1.0 RC0\Scripts\Misc
Once setup , start server and you and your friends should be able to have fun

i had same problem as you and someone on these forums named david help me out.

That link was not a good one.

However with your info I was able to log on the shard form both pc's. However, noone else can. I know this has been discussed many times (sorry Admin) but none of the answers worked for me. Can anyone assist? I have tried shutting down my firewall when they were trying to log in. I have changed the ip in the server list to my ip. and they still get hung up when trying to join via gateway. any suggestions or help would be GREATLY appreciated. How far do the players get and what message do they recieve?

Basicly you can split the possible troubleshooting in two parts with one question. Do you see them attempt to log in from the server console? If you do, then the problem is in your ServerList.cs file. If you cannot, the problem is ip related--either your router, your firewall, or they have the wrong address.

go to the "server and script forum" and read a post called "problem with local server" it might help you........it helped me

Do you have a router? Dynamic, or Static IP?

I have a static ip and the internet goes into a cable box then to the first pc (mine is the second pc) I have changed the ip to the ip listed on whatsmyip and have even tried the script that automatically detects the ip for you. I have shut off my firewall completely so I know it is not my firewall preventing conection. Unfortunatly, I have had no success in my friends getting on my shard.

Idont even see eny clue of them trying to login on runuo.
I am at my wits end as to what the problem may be. any suggetions would be greatly appreciated.

So, your cablebox is your router? Does that IP look somethjing like 60.1.1.1 or something like that? Then your local IP of your PC looks like 192.1.1.1 something? When you go to Whatsmyip.com, what does it look like? Did you look at the sticky under server support?
