What are you using to connect to the shard?

If it is just the character '[' you are having trouble with and you can type other characters it is possible to change the default command prefix for runuo.

Changing the command prefix is done in the Handlers.cs
( \Scripts\Commands\Handlers.cs)

In this file you should be able to find the following line:

Server.Commands.CommandPrefix = "[";

You can change the 'character' inbetween the "" to any character you like

Server.Commands.CommandPrefix = ".";
for example would make your command prefix a .

This will allow you to use all commands with a "." instead of a "[" (e.g. ".help" isntead of "[help").

Note: This may not be the solution to your particular problem, if it isn't please give as much detail as possible about your problem and I am sure someone will be able to help.
Also note that I recited this from memory since I don't have the server files here with me but it should be close enough.

Radar3: I am using Uo-rise to create a New Client-file. Then I use that one.

Captain the first: Tnx! =) It worked!

But now I have some other probs =S....
(I am a verry new on this and mayby its verry simple)
1. There are no monsters or animals at all. Who do I add them into the Shard?
2. When I place a house I dont get any Key so I cant lock the house. Must I change some proporties for that?
3. The last problem is with the house to: I cant lock things down. It was a while ago I played Uo, but I think I should use the command: "Lock this down". Am I wrong or must I do something else?

Tnx for all suport!

Spawn them

2. When I place a house I dont get any Key so I cant lock the house. Must I change some proporties for that?

AOS does not use keys anymore, edit the code.

3. The last problem is with the house to: I cant lock things down. It was a while ago I played Uo, but I think I should use the command: "Lock this down". Am I wrong or must I do something else?

Your using the wrong command, do a search for the right command

Phantom is 100% correct. However since this is the new join forum I will give a slightly more in-depth answer to your questions.

1. You can add a spawner if you are logged in to your shard as an administrator by typing [add spawner or with your new command prefix .add spawner.
You can then double click on the spawner and type in what animals you want it to spawn by typing in the name of the animal, for example: Bear
You can also use the command [props ( .props ) on your spawner to edit a few of it's properties like how many creatures it should spawn.
You should do a few searches on this topic in the forum to find more information.

2. As phantom said, house keys are no longer used. You should be able to click on the door of your house and set it's security level. The security level determines who can get into the house.
You should do a few searches on this topic in the forum and uo.stratics.com to find more information.

3. The command is: "I wish to lock this down". You can also create a secure container by saying: "I wish to secure this" and clicking on a target container (box).
You should do a few searches on this topic in the forum and uo.stratics.com to find more information.

In case you didn't notice I recommended to search the forums quite a few times. Most of your questions have already been answered, and if you search first and only ask 'new' questions people will be a lot friendlier

First off, you should have a clean install of Ultima Online: Age of Shadows, RunUO, .NET Framework 1.1 or higher and UOGateway.
If you do not have any or all of these four things don't even BOTHER trying to go any further.

You can get Age of Shadows from here: UO:AOS

You can get RunUO from the downloads section on The best site ever

.NET Framework is on The worst site ever under Windows ** where ** is your windows version.

UOGateway can be found at, of all places, The UOGateway Site

Run your server first off and wait until it fully boots up. You should be asked to enter the administrator's account name and password. Do this. Then you run UOGateway and you create a new localserver listing. The IP, if you are running it on the same computer you are using to connect, should be 127.0.0.1. If you are not using the same computer to run and connect then the IP is something like 172.16.*.* or 192.168.*.* where * is any number from 0 to 255 pre-defined by either you or whoever runs your network. The port is 2593. Click on your new listing and after a little while your client should load. Then enter the administrator's name and password and then if you entered it correctly and did everything else then it should allow you to connect. If you want monsters, animals and so on and so forth download the Spawner made by Nerun. Follow the instructions in the post very carefully even though they are basic. After putting the data and scripts folders into your runuo directory restart the shard by typing [restart. Then when it loads back up, log in again and type [spawn, go through all the pages and click the tick at the end. The spawn process took me about 1 and a half to two minutes and, judging by how average my computer is, it should take you the same time. IMMEDIATELY after the spawn do [save. Every monster and vendor in your world should be spawned now.
