hi,im new to this and i want to get some detailed info on how to start a shard

hey i tryed to open the server thing and it didnt work. is this beacuse im not trying to logg in?and i really need help

Hey,quantos fixed it right up now can someone tell me how to get my shard started,i know i needed runuo i have the latest version and now i need to get started with it i'll have it soon.thanks in advance

1) Unzip the RunUO zip file

2) In the Run UO folder, double click server.exe (blue square icon)

3) A window will pop up and say it's loading then prompt you to make an Admin account. Follow the prompts.

4) Download Uo Gateway, or load it if you already have. Click on the tab that says New Local Server.

5) Put server name whatever you want it to be. For Server/dns ip put 127.0.0.1 and leave the port that is already in there. Allow Razor if you want to. Click Save Settings.

6) Click the icon next to the server listing you just created and it will bring up a log in window. Log in there, and you're on.

This is if you're just setting up one for you to play. It works a bit differently if you're trying to make it public.

would you happen to know how to make a server public?i'm getting it online after I move and i really wanna figure it out soon, thank you.

but what do you do if you log on and cant see anythign. all i see is the background for the login screen

before you list on UO gateway, do you have to change any of the scripts? I am also trying to make my own server, and this is actually helping me a little...

No, unless you want to change your shard name so it shows up as something other than Test Center. That would be in Serverlist.cs, but if you're new, I would wait before listing on Gateway until you're more familiar with things.

I figured that part out...any other pointers for a noobie? I would like to make my shard no regs, and boosted skills... like all players start with all stats/skills lvl 30..., I would appreciate any help I could get... Thanks

No regs is easy, but what do you mean by level 30? Did you install a leveling system on your shard? If you use the search function, there are a ton of posts about taking out reagents. I'm not sure how to do it. There's also posts about making skills high or letting players set their own skill to a certain degree. I know this is the new join forum, and you're not supposed to direct people to use search, but those are some pretty involved questions. I will look for the link for you thought and post them when I find them.

Here's a link on how to disable regs. There's a bit of arguing in there, sorry lol.
