Ok After looking over all the EMU's out there Here I have landed. My biggest questions is that is there a tutorial on the scripting for RunUO. I know it uses c# but beyond that i'm a bit confused. Also is there a favorite editor for the scripts? So far I havnt found much for c# editors, except for a plethora of basic text editors. Any other help is appriciated as I get the server installed and start on development.

Welcome to RunUO, I hope you love it just as much as I do!
Anyways, as far as editors go, I use SharpDevelop like Phantom suggested. I'm sure if you perform a forum search for it you'll find a link, if not plug it into google and I'm sure you'll find it in no time. As for tutorials...here is one I found useful. http://www.softsteel.co.uk/tutorials.../contents.html Anyways, I hope that helps you get started. One thing I do suggest is that you read through these forums as regularly as you can, and run some forum searches before posting anything. Many MANY topics have been covered quite well in the past and you'll find a near endless supply of solutions already exist on these boards. Anyways, once again welcome and good luck. |

Everything is in C#...don't use VB.NET unless you're more comfortable with that. But most of us don't know it, so you'd be on your own for support...
As for a tutorial...the best we have to offer here is simply to try, and then post what explodes in the script support forum. Do it in that order or you'll catch a lot of flak from certain members. :P I have to contradict the two previous posts... I personally use Visual Studio .NET...and like it a lot. Code editor is mainly a matter of taste. I've use several, but like VisualStudio the best.

I would not suggest using the Express version of VS2k5 at this time. Your only asking for trouble... |

thanks guys for the support. I'll grab me a book or two on c# and get to work. I have the full blown VS since my school sells it to the students for $25. Was looking for a standalone editor so my other staff that does not have VS could use it. I think I found one of those though. Also thanks for the heads on on forum usage. I have been searching around these forums for a few days now to see what all there was. Only thing i'm hung up on now is finding a GM tool, as the link for Pandora's box doesnt work for me.
